Yeabridge Green

No.287

A bright avocado green

This fresh avocado green was discovered in an 18th century Georgian farmhouse in Yeabridge, Somerset, when the original gun cupboard was removed. Although untouched for many years, it was still astonishingly bright and reminiscent of the lush grass that surrounds the house. This uncomplicated, clean green sits happily in both contemporary settings and period homes. It has a little more yellow than Breakfast Room Green but a little less than Churlish Green. Pair with Hague Blue to create a truly uplifting interior.

Recommended Primer & Undercoat: Mid Tones

Complementary white: James White

ECO-FRIENDLY AND CHILD-SAFE

Back in 2010, we moved our entire range to an eco-friendly water base that’s low odour, low VOC and child-safe, becoming the first in the industry to do so. Easy to clean without harmful solvents, in tins that can be recycled again and again, our paints help to reduce the environmental impact of redecorating your home.

QUALITY FINISHES

Every one of our 132 paint colours is available in a range of durable interior and exterior paint finishes, each rigorously tested to ensure an exceptional depth of colour and long-lasting finish. For the very best results, we always recommend using a Farrow & Ball Primer & Undercoat – see above for the correct tone for this colour.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best paint ever! A brilliant gloss - I had never tried a water based gloss before but absolutely LOVE this Farrow and Ball paint. I won't use any other now. We've done all the woodwork in our hallway - five runs of stairs and five landings! And we used Farrow and Ball emulsion on the walls. Great colours and great paint to work with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice green, bright and rich I used Yeabridge Green to renovate a cupboard that was badly painted. The work took me ages, as I had to peel off all the old paint with a scraper, sand the wood and apply the paint. This was the easiest part after all. At the beginning I was going to use Yeabridge Green on doors and drawers and white on structure, but then I changed my mind as the place is a hut, not so bright and I did the contrary. I found inspiration in the cupboard of Mary Margaret/SnowWhite form Once Upon a Time! Yeabridge Green was great to use and covered well the white below (I didn't took away the old paint from the structure as it was difficult to move). I used Wimborne White for doors and panels. I am tempted to put green ceramic knobs to match, but I already had white ones, so I used them. I am happy with the results, I suggest this color as it is bright & bold.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The perfect green. I’m thrilled with the results. I used estate eggshell on all of my internal doors. The colour is perfect and creates a real impact. Flawless finish.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful period colour and superb finish. We are renovating an old cottage which has a mural above the fire place dated from around 1740. It was a challenge to find the perfect colour to compliment this feature. I have used Farrow and Ball paints in the past and they are my first port of call when choosing colours. As soon as I saw Yeabridge Green I just knew it would be perfect and it is. I have also used Railings on my exterior doors and windows which looks striking against the red brick. I think I might have set off a bit of a trend here in Suffolk as my decorator has shown pictures of my house to his clients who have since changed their exterior colour choice to Railings.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just the right colour for a south facing kitchen Really delighted with the colour - it was a big contrast to previous colour cooks blue - in our kitchen and it has proved an excellent choice. The colour is both restful and vibrant and reflects the light perfectly. It contrasts well with our oak doors and kitchen furniture.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My little terraced house really looks beautiful in the valleys of S Wales Have always loved these "different" colours for years. They look so subtle and make your property look real quality. Expensive, but affordable and worth it on a small terraced house like mine. Almost certainly an investment rather than a "gwastraff o bres" (needless expenditure, a waste of brass). £150 for Farrar & Ball compared to £75 for Dulux, so only extra £75). The outside at front (a sort of pebble dash) has been painted with two coats liberally applied and surrounding brickwork (round front door, windows) has been painted in black. Will do back of house next year exactly the same.
