Our outdoor spaces have never been more important to us and whether your garden is a large landscaped plot, a single window box bursting with blooms, or anything in between, adding some cheerful of colour is a great way to refresh your space.
We’ve created step-by-step instructions showing you how to paint a garden planter with our Exterior Eggshell finish.
PREPARATION IS KEY
It’s important to start with a clean surface, so using a damp sponge, wipe down the planter to ensure all dirt and grease is removed. Once clean, lightly sand the surface.
If your planter has been previously painted, make sure to remove any areas of old paint that are flaking.
TIME TO PRIME
Apply one coat of Wood Primer & Undercoat, in the correct colour tone for your topcoat (and allowing a minimum of 4 hours drying time between coats).
Tip: we’ve listed the recommend Primer & Undercoat in the information section on all our colours
ADD SOME COLOUR
To create this colour blocking look, use masking tape to create a straight line for each layer, then apply two coats of Exterior Eggshell in your chosen colour (allowing a minimum of 2 hours drying time between coats).
We’ve opted for Snow White, Ash Grey and Sap Green for a natural, earthy scheme.
GET PLANTING
Once your paint is dry, finish off your planter by adding a selection of luscious greenery.
