Sulking Room Pink

No.295

A romantic and muted rose

Not to be seen as overtly pink, but rather a muted rose with enormous warmth, its powdery feel makes it incredibly soft and easy to use with complementary tones. Sulking Room Pink is evocative of the colours so often used in boudoirs, a room named after the French "bouder" - to sulk.

Recommended Primer & Undercoat: Mid Tones

Complementary white: Great White

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works best in light rooms I bought this paint for my hallway after trying a sample on some plain paper. The color is very dependant on the amount of light in the room and time of day, it is almost a rosey brown in my hallway but looks very well with my other decor. It would look more pink in a light room with little shadow. Lots of depth to this colour which I love and I always receive compliments from visitors

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful rich colour Not disappointed with this shade of pink. A lovely rich warm shade that works well in our north facing living room.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Recently painted my conservatory this lovely colour. The colour changes throughout the day but it goes between a beautiful mauve and brown. Helps that the room has lots of light otherwise I think it could be quite dark. Very happy with it and even my hubby loves it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE I am in love with this colour, it’s in two bedrooms in my house! It is deep and warm, really beautiful and very different to the other pinks in the range.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Complex, very beautiful We almost didn't go for this colour because of reviews describing it as muddy or brown because, though we didn't want a baby pink room, we didnt want a brown one either. The room is a Georgian/Regency attic bedroom with windows on North, East and South walls. In the end we tried a tester and went for it. A coat of primer/undercoat on top of sound wallpaper and two coats of estate emulsion... and we really love the outcome. I'd say its one of those complex highly pigmented colours F&B excel at, and which make the paint worth the price. In this room, SRP changes markedly with the light from a warm dusky rose in bright daylight to a deep rose on dull days, to a darker, browner/purple rose in artificial light (which Im guessing is where the mud description comes from). If you're using it in a permanently gloomy space then it probably would look darker and more brown, but in the end I do think its more rose than anything else. Its a very grown up colour and endlessly interesting...who knew you could pass the time effectively by staring at the walls? My painter and and I were mesmerised. I don't know if thats of any help to waverers, and colour of course, can look very different to different people, but I'd say - in my opinion - the shade shown on the website and colour card are pretty accurate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely A lovely paint. We used this in our dressing room and it’s beautiful. Surprised by the comments about the colour, perhaps it does depend on the quality light in the room, but in our south-facing room it was a fabulous colour and as pictured

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Deep and rich Lovely colour I would say it is deeper and richer in a brown/ purple tint than I expected. for the room I was painting I just used it for an accent wall with white contrast walls . Looks lovely
