A warm and delicate white

This fresh and uncomplicated white is named after the colour of lime pointing used in traditional brickwork. One of our Red Based Neutrals, Pointing has a warm undertone to it which creates the prettiest of spaces when used on walls and always softens the feel of a room alongside strong, traditional colours.

Every one of our paint colours is available in a range of durable interior and exterior paint finishes, each rigorously tested to ensure an exceptional depth of colour and long-lasting finish. For the very best results, we always recommend using a Farrow & Ball Primer & Undercoat – see above for the correct tone for this colour.

All Farrow & Ball finishes except Limewash contain isothiazolinones, which may produce an allergic reaction. Farrow & Ball Limewash contains calcium hydroxide which can cause severe damage in contact with skin or eyes. Rated 5 out of 5 by from A winner Thought Pointing was boring at first, and possibly too modern looking for my Victorian house, but it's turning out to be one of my most used colors. Looks like a bright white, but has a lot of warmth and personality in it. Can feel modern or historical, depending on context. A great white for ceilings. Goes well with White Tie, if you want a white on white scheme. I think it looks sensational in Estate Emulsion on walls or ceilings, but I'm mostly using it as a wall color in Modern Emulsion in bathroom, laundry room, halls, etc. It works very well in that role. This color goes well as a wall color with French Grey (on trim) to give some historic atmosphere to attics, back hallways and other "back of the house" areas you might have in an older building... basically areas that might have been limewashed in the distant past.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great warm off white In a poll of well-known U.S. interior decorators who were asked to choose their favorite off-white paint color, F&B's Pointing was in the top three. It gets its warmth from a small amount of yellow pigment and a mere hint of red, although it 'reads' white until you place it next to a bright pure white. Wonderful with red-based neutrals and colors. I found it a breeze to apply and it covers exceptionally well. Lovely color!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super satisfied with this white cream paint We tried quite a few samples before deciding to go with Pointing modern emulsion for kitchen diner. It looks different under different lights Ie time of day, sunlight, natural light or whatever bulb lights are on. Best mood is evening with dimmed downlights or pendant. Mostly ceiling looks white and walls differ in shade of cream. Very happy with look and feel. High quality and really nice to work with. Sheen from reflected light can also look good. Used primer and 2 coats, believe 2 coats are needed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More cream than expected but warm and cosy Very much more yellow than expected, which came as a shock when the floors were still white. Very different to the colour card - definitely refer to onscreen colour instead (or get a sample pot). When the dark floors came, it balanced out again and the final effect is: warmth - without being too yellow/ cream. But be aware as I fear it could be a bit 70s, depending on your other colours. Also very different depending on the light - more white in sunlight, more yellow in lamp light. Also beware the emulsions - we had estate emulsion next to modern emulsion next to estate eggshell and the different sheens definitely make the colour look different. You can see in the Photo -

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice warm white This is a warm white which in my south facing room means it’s not too glaring white.
