A chalky mid tone
This mid tone off white is one of the original Farrow & Ball colours - an uncomplicated name for a timeless classic. Off-White sits within our Traditional Neutrals so works perfectly with Old White, Slipper Satin and Lime White. Its underlying green gives it an unsurpassed softness, creating a chalky and traditional wall colour or a sophisticated woodwork tone. Off-White is also great for use on floors, bouncing light onto the walls while retaining a soft, warm feel.

Made by Hogworts?
Just painted the kitchen walls with off-white . . . I swear this paint is made by Hogworts - nothing is what it seems, I was convinced that this was a mushroom shade of cream. Wrong! its a pale shade of sage green! But I love it, it looks subtle and very grown-up, it's teamed with oak units, white flooring, woodwork and ceiling. Hubby says that the estate emulsion is a joy to use, goes a long way with excellent coverage - well worth the extra cost. All in all not what I expected but a 'serendipitous' outcome. If you want a natural colour with depth and warmth then try Off-white.

Good Neutral Shade
Several people have said Off White looks a shade of green - I haven't found that - it looks the same colour as fresh putty - a greyish cream. So use a matchpot!
I used Off White in a small dark north-facing room. It's a light colour and works well as a foil to stronger colours - I've used Stone White on doors and fireplace (which is very much a green shade) and the two work well together. I've also used it in a very dark porch with Eating Room Red doors and that worked.
Works well as a neutral background to show off stronger colours.
