Green Smoke

A dark and smoky green

A smoky green blue, this colour was popular in interiors during the late 19th century. It has an irresistibly inviting deepness and weathered familiarity when used in exterior situations, while evoking calm and serenity when used inside.

Recommended Primer & Undercoat: Dark Tones

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Deep, beautiful colour I repainted my lounge with Green Smoke. What a lovely, soft, smoky colour, and a beautiful matte, almost velvety finish. So much more cosy than before. It ’s pricey but in my opinion worth every penny as it covers really well. Just 2 coats needed over the dark tones undercoat. I didn’t use as much as I thought so have enough left to paint another room.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this colour! I was a bit skeptical of a more expensive paint brand but after reading all the reviews I decided to give Farrow & Ball a try. It only took one coat and the green looks amazing and did not leave any streak marks. I'm very impressed with the quality and definitely recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fabulously smoky! I took many a month deliberating over the colour scheme for my lounge diner, I settled upon Smoke Green (feature wall) with Wimborne White contrast walls and woodwork. Unsure about the ceiling and cornice, I settled for white washing them - the decision I think was a good one as it highlights the creaminess of the Wimborne White and makes a fabulous contrast against the green. And can I say that the Green Smoke is the star of the show. I was also undecided whether this colour would run well along more than 9 metres in total but It’s warmth and depth of colour in the lounge area is incredible. It gives an aura of opulence without being ostentatious resulting in a cosy feel. Into the dining area, the additional light from south facing French doors gives a much lighter appearance, looking clean and crisp but keeping a colour flow whilst maintaining that warmth the lounge offers. The woodwork was finished in Wimborne White and my only faux pas was going off piste at the checkout by purchasing Radicchio instead of my ‘firm’ choice of Terre d’Egypt for my cove/hatch area woodwork. I could kick myself but for now, it’s painted in Wimborne White I thoroughly recommend Smoke Green - my room has been transformed and is the envy of my friends (Thank you Farrow and Ball). And now I’m waiting for my new burnt orange sofa to be delivered to finish the effect. And so to my next project ......
