A protective olive green

This mid-century modern green is a darker version of the much loved archive colour, Olive. Perfect for those who want to embrace stronger colour in the home, its sober tone creates rooms that feel calm and serene - especially when combined with soft pinks and browns. Named after Japanese tea leaves, Bancha, like a cup of green tea, provides a feeling of security.

Recommended Primer & Undercoat: Dark Tones

Complementary white: Shaded White

Bancha is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 73.

Back in 2010, we moved our entire range to an eco-friendly water base that’s low odour, low VOC and child-safe, becoming the first in the industry to do so. Easy to clean without harmful solvents, in tins that can be recycled again and again, our paints help to reduce the environmental impact of redecorating your home.

Every one of our paint colours is available in a range of durable interior and exterior paint finishes, each rigorously tested to ensure an exceptional depth of colour and long-lasting finish. For the very best results, we always recommend using a Farrow & Ball Primer & Undercoat – see above for the correct tone for this colour.

All Farrow & Ball finishes except Limewash contain isothiazolinones, which may produce an allergic reaction. Farrow & Ball Limewash contains calcium hydroxide which can cause severe damage in contact with skin or eyes. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gorgeous depth of colour We have used this on 2 walls in our bedroom, the finish is beautiful and looks almost like suede. It picks up a colour in the curtains perfectly and is a lovely restful colour. Low odour means we were able to sleep in the room on the same night it was finished. Goes on easily and covers really well

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful colour We used this rich, olive green for a 'feature' wall in our living room and it looks gorgeous. Goes especially well with dark wood furniture and gold/brass accents!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very luxurious This is my first foray into what could be described as F&B's bolder palette, having used Skimming Stone, Elephants Breath and All White previously. What a wonderful colour for our office, extremely handsome. The modern emulsion was a pleasure to use, very smooth and 2 coats is ample. I'm hooked on F&B now, a costly but satisfying addiction.
