A lively mint green

Arsenic has a lively, stimulating feel despite its name being derived from the poison that was rumoured to have been in the wallpaper that poisoned Napoleon after his capture. Its vivid mint colour makes it feel just as at home on contemporary kitchen cabinets, especially when paired with Down Pipe, as it does on the walls of a 19th century dining room.

Recommended Primer & Undercoat: Mid Tones

Back in 2010, we moved our entire range to an eco-friendly water base that’s low odour, low VOC and child-safe, becoming the first in the industry to do so. Easy to clean without harmful solvents, in tins that can be recycled again and again, our paints help to reduce the environmental impact of redecorating your home.

Every one of our paint colours is available in a range of durable interior and exterior paint finishes, each rigorously tested to ensure an exceptional depth of colour and long-lasting finish. For the very best results, we always recommend using a Farrow & Ball Primer & Undercoat – see above for the correct tone for this colour.

All Farrow & Ball finishes except Limewash contain isothiazolinones, which may produce an allergic reaction. Farrow & Ball Limewash contains calcium hydroxide which can cause severe damage in contact with skin or eyes. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this colour! I loved this colour from the moment I saw it online and it looks equally good up in my bedroom. I even painted an extra wall in it as I loved it so much. It went on very smoothly too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fabulous colour I added water and used this as a wash over a tall cabinet which I washed over with a top coat of green-blue and then waxed. I wanted some contrast against the dramatic Vardo walls and am pleased with the result.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a colour!!! We recently revamped our kitchen. We used Arsenic on the old, nasty, brown cupboards to inject some colour into the space. Extremely pleased with how it turned out. The paint is really great to work with :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic! I just repainted my dingy looking pale yellow kitchen in arsenic and it looks like a whole new room! I love the way this color shifts with the light over the course of the day: I get everything from a fresh grassy green to a lovely blue leaning mint. The paint goes a long way, but one note of caution. At least in the modern emulsion it thickens very quickly! Only pour a tiny bit into your pan or cup at a time. Other than that it goes on beautifully, very easy to work with and dries with a perfect finish.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not Deadly I just finished remodeling my downstairs powder room and chose this absolutely beautiful color. It is refreshing, bright, and happy. I can't bring myself to hang my artwork and cover up the beautiful color.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Colour (750ml tin) I bought this to upcycle an old dressing table I’d purchased for £20, and the result is far better than I expected. The colour is absolutely beautiful, and looks darker/more vibrant depending on the time of day and the light in the room. The paint itself went on well, and I used just two coats (before and after pics as shown). I used the same tin to paint a further three units for my room, and there is still some left over, so great value for money. I found that purple accessories really compliment the mint colour.
