What style springs to mind when you hear Farrow & Ball? For some, visions of neutral minimalism appear, others picture deep blues with inviting richness and many see the vibrant pattern and colour of our recent Carte Blanche capsule collection. That’s the beauty of creating a range of colours that effortlessly combine to complement spaces of every style, size and shape. And one design studio in Oregon has truly put this versatility to the test.

Light and Dwell is an interior design studio in Corvallis, Oregon, a part of America's Pacific Northwest region, an area of breathtaking natural beauty. Co-founded by Aymee Kuhlman and Molly Kidd, the studio creates spaces that are timeless and elevated but, at the same time, whole-heartedly feel like home. Their design approach is based on six unique styles: Cottage Tudor, Mountain Ranch, European, Earthy Organic, Modern and Traditional. And they use Farrow & Ball to achieve each and every one.

Here are seven Farrow & Ball shades they particularly adore for their versatility, depth and feel:

We spoke to Molly Kidd, Principal Designer at Light and Dwell, to hear in her own words, why she’s such a loyal Farrow & Ball fan:

“Many of our designs are inspired by nature and the muted, earthy palette of the Pacific Northwest – lush foliage, overcast days, the ocean and mountains. We’ve found that Farrow & Ball colours and finishes are the only way to do our surroundings justice.

“Sustainability is also at the forefront of every Light and Dwell project. We have a promise to pair vintage pieces with custom-made products, increasing the life of existing materials and supporting local makers. So, we really align with the Farrow & Ball approach to handcrafting paint and paper with care.”
