Great productPainted full wall bookcase from white to a dark green ‘Bancha’ dead flat - Was an excellent base and then needed only one coat afterwards of Bancha. I have read other reviews where there are moans about undercoat recommended or required for some F&B paints - but it was no more work as only one coat of the more expensive top coat rather than two was required. Really pleased with the result and finish is holding up well.

Excellent primer…We always use the recommended primer for the individual F&B colours… they always offer excellent coverage and smooth application…also assists in the depth of pigmentation for the following 2 top coats of which ever coloured finish of paint you choose.
Would never, not use this product!
To Paul19 who left a 1star review, a few months back…you used the wrong colour wood primer &undercoat. The Pointing gloss you wanted to use is a light/white tone primer&undercoat…not dark tones. Not sure why this wasn’t pointed out to you at the time of talking to F&B and testing etc…🤷♀️☺️

Perfect start for an upcycling project.Love the primer. It sets up a fantastic finish for my upcycling projects. No matter what the original surface was coated with after a bit of a sand, clean and prime the modern eggshell glides on for a perfect finish.

Eggshell and PrimerBoth eggshell and primer are very runny and prone to drips that appear after the area has been stroked several times, looks to be finished and smooth then develops drip marks. Each door has been sanded and primed..and taken 4 coats of eggshell to complete. The finish is very good but it has never taken me so long to paint a door from prep to completion.

Poor coverageUsed this undercoat prior to using Pointing full-gloss. After 3 under-coats on one run of skirting and 4 coats on another the knotting was still showing through. Paint returned to F&B for testing but was told it met their specification. If that was the case then (as it applied according to the instructions on the tin) why the problem? Not happy with F&B response so will not use their products in future.
