Stone Blue

No.86

A lively blue

This warm and timeless blue is named after the indigo pigment which was often imported in lumps in the 18th century. Stone Blue’s lively and saturated colour can be used alongside warmer tones such as Pelt to create an inviting vintage look, or the cooler Mole's Breath for a cleaner, more contemporary feel. When contrasted with Dimpse woodwork, however, it feels both distinguished and familiar.

Recommended Primer & Undercoat: Mid Tones

Complementary white: Strong White

ECO-FRIENDLY AND CHILD-SAFE

Back in 2010, we moved our entire range to an eco-friendly water base that’s low odour, low VOC and child-safe, becoming the first in the industry to do so. Easy to clean without harmful solvents, in tins that can be recycled again and again, our paints help to reduce the environmental impact of redecorating your home.

QUALITY FINISHES

Every one of our paint colours is available in a range of durable interior and exterior paint finishes, each rigorously tested to ensure an exceptional depth of colour and long-lasting finish. For the very best results, we always recommend using a Farrow & Ball Primer & Undercoat – see above for the correct tone for this colour.

SAFETY INFORMATION

All Farrow & Ball finishes except Limewash contain isothiazolinones, which may produce an allergic reaction. Farrow & Ball Limewash contains calcium hydroxide which can cause severe damage in contact with skin or eyes. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Goes on the wall great! I’d never tried Farrow and Ball and have to admit the price put me off but after using the sample and seeing how amazingly it goes on the wall I can’t wait to use more! Stone Blue is a really luxurious colour

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brightened up gates & garage door Has transformed dark gates and brown garage door, looks more cheerful. Easy to apply, 2 coats on wooden door (with F&B undercoat) and 2 on metal gates (different brand undercoat). Metal gates has a couple of chips which is a little disappointing but still looks great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely colour and texture As ever the colours are delightful and the paint glides on. Just a shame you need a mortgage to cover the cost of the paint!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stone Blue - Lounge After three years of a completely white washed home we have finally decorated the entire house. The lounge now feels warm and relaxing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A much better Entrance. We have always had Farrow and Ball in our houses but it’s always been a neutral shade. Never one to shy away from a pop of colour, the front door to the cottage was in need of some freshening up. I think the results speak for themselves.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic paint Farrow and Ball paint is outstanding It’s application is so easy and smooth and the final results are so pleasing. While it is expensive, the finished results are well worth it. I woulld not use anything else. The choice of colours they have available is excellent, and particularly liked the wide range of shades of white the provide.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gorgeous rich blue It took 3/4 coats, the first looking patchy but it is a really lovely rich blue, used the modern emulsion which I love because it wipes clean so well and has a softness to it. Just love this colour, just wish I could use it in more rooms.
