Red Earth

No.64

A warm terracotta red

This light terracotta hue takes its name from the very soil beneath our feet. Red Earth is a rich blend of red and yellow pigments which create a warm earthy feel in homes both old and new. Often best used in smaller spaces, this warm colour responds extraordinarily to the changes of light throughout the day, becoming deeper and cosier as the sun drops.

Recommended Primer & Undercoat: Red & Warm Tones

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gorgeous! I absolutely love this paint! It is beautiful and thick - we only needed one coat of it (over the red tones primer) to get a rich, deep colour. It looks darker on my wall than in the F&B attic picture, but I like that - not so orangy. Really pleased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and inviting Lovely warm colour against the grey kitchen units. Modern emulsion is tough and so far managing without a back splash or tiles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely earth warming colour Having purchased Charlottes Lock for the kitchen to find, whoops, my mistake (very vibrant, just not for me), I spoke to F&B directly. I was actually liking the undercoat more (F&B red tones) as a top coat. After a long discussion on what I was trying to achieve, he said we have a discontinued top coat colour which is virtually the same as the undercoat and red earth was also very close. I had the fan card so had decided upon Red Earth. This was on a Thursday afternoon, and needed the paint on Friday. Fear not, excellent delivery service direct from F&B. Used two coats of red tone undercoat (I was having to cover Charlottes Lock!), and two top coats of Red Earth. Red Earth was a lovely consistency and went on very easily, perfect job. I have managed to match some antique copper handles with concrete effect kitchen units. Work in progress picture attached. You can see Charlottes Lock on the bottom ! Expensive mistake to make, but my own fault, I didn't buy a tester. Red Earth is very terrocotta effect, so can easily add some vibrant colour (lime green accessories for example), or pick up warm brown tones. Ignore the flooring in the pic, that got ripped up ! Highly recommend Red Earth, using undercoat red tones.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful colour and good coverage I bought this colour along with Setting Plaster to redecorate a bedroom and give it some wow factor. The colour is amazing and seems to bounce light around the room at any time of the day. the paint was easy to use and covered the walls easily with two coats. Would highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Up dateing We inherited an old brown wardrobe from my husbands mother. It was very dirty so we cleaned it up and there was interesting carving on the panels at the fromt and a date of 1825. It was a priests vestment cupboard. I painted with the Red Earth eggshell it looked amazing, went on very easy. I let it dry and went over it in Charlston Grey also a lovely paint to use, letting the Red Earth peek through. Touched up some of the carving with old penny bronze. I'm painting the inside Red Earth to compleat the Wow The end result is fabulous
