Rectory Red

No.217

A rich red

This rich clean red is named after the charming village houses built over the years for the clergy. Rectory Red is a blackened and aged version of Blazer and feels much more sophisticated, especially when contrasted with Red Based Neutrals such as Joa’s White. It is a warming colour which will intensify when used in a small space to create the most welcoming of rooms.

Recommended Primer & Undercoat: Red & Warm Tones

Complementary white: Dimity

Rectory Red is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 106.

ECO-FRIENDLY AND CHILD-SAFE

Back in 2010, we moved our entire range to an eco-friendly water base that’s low odour, low VOC and child-safe, becoming the first in the industry to do so. Easy to clean without harmful solvents, in tins that can be recycled again and again, our paints help to reduce the environmental impact of redecorating your home.

QUALITY FINISHES

Every one of our paint colours is available in a range of durable interior and exterior paint finishes, each rigorously tested to ensure an exceptional depth of colour and long-lasting finish. For the very best results, we always recommend using a Farrow & Ball Primer & Undercoat – see above for the correct tone for this colour.

Farrow & Ball Limewash contains calcium hydroxide which can cause severe damage in contact with skin or eyes. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful colour A bit thinner and splashier than the other brand of paint I'm using in my house but still easy to apply, after the recommended 2 coats it comes out a gorgeous colour and now my bedroom looks wonderful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fabulous paint! Colour is rich. Paint is easy to use and applies really well. Initially cost seems expensive but you get what you pay for. Would certainly buy again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful colour We were wanting a red "feature wall" in our living room and Rectory Red seemed to fit the bill and so we sent off for a sample tin. We were not disappointed and now have exactly what we imagined and are highly de!ighted. This is the most beautiful co!our and every day we enjoy watching the changes the daylight makes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely colour I wanted a deep shade of paint for our fireplace wall in the lounge. Tried a few different samples and chose the first colour I looked at which is Rectory Red! Our home is an old converted mill so its just perfect. Have teamed it with Farrows Cream (again a lovely colour) on the other three walls and it creates a warm inviting feel to the space.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Second time of buying I recently bought another tin of this paint to repaint my outside doors. I had previously painted all my outside door and woodwork a number of years ago. The paint didn't need repainted as there were no chips or areas flaking off, however, as it was during the lockdown period, we thought we would take the opportunity to repaint the woodwork. Went on like a dream, brightening up our woodwork.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely deep colour Lovely deep shade, I was worried when I was applying because it looked like a blood colour and was worried my dining room would look like a vampires bedroom but it tried so well and the shade got a deeper and luxurious. Very happy

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So easy to apply. After using Farrow and Ball paint, I wouldn’t even consider using any other. We used rectory red in our sitting room wall and pitch black on our fireplace, goes on like a dream, no drips, no patches, just perfect paint.
