Purbeck Stone

An understated stone grey

Purbeck Stone is a clean and understated mid grey that resembles the colour of stone found on the Isle of Purbeck, close to our home here in Dorset. Purbeck Stone is the strongest of our Easy Neutrals, sitting contentedly as part of a calming scheme with Cornforth White, Wevet and Ammonite in homes both old and new.

Recommended Primer & Undercoat: Mid Tones

Complementary white: Wevet

Purbeck Stone is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 132.

Get the most out of your sample pot order with our three-step guide to testing colours at home.

Back in 2010, we moved our entire range to an eco-friendly water base that’s low odour, low VOC and child-safe, becoming the first in the industry to do so. Easy to clean without harmful solvents, in tins that can be recycled again and again, our paints help to reduce the environmental impact of redecorating your home.

Every one of our paint colours is available in a range of durable interior and exterior paint finishes, each rigorously tested to ensure an exceptional depth of colour and long-lasting finish. For the very best results, we always recommend using a Farrow & Ball Primer & Undercoat – see above for the correct tone for this colour.

All Farrow & Ball finishes except Limewash contain isothiazolinones, which may produce an allergic reaction. Farrow & Ball Limewash contains calcium hydroxide which can cause severe damage in contact with skin or eyes. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great colour, easy to apply the 2nd coat Had my utility room updated with new cupboards and needed a paint to match the new cupboard doors, and chose F&B mid tones primer and Purbeck stone estate eggshell. Great finish, good match and so easy to apply the 2nd coat of eggshell as it goes on much lighter so you can see where you have missed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I had been looking for Had been looking for a grey that was GREY! Purbeck Stone was just perfect with the lighting in the area (kitchen) to be painted. Kitchen windows (2 large) and a half glass door let in light mostly from the West and South. It stays a true grey in this light with no blue whatsoever. My perfect grey.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great paint, lovely colour. Very happy! We recently moved house and have started our first decorating job. The bedroom. We wanted a warm grey colour and chose this sample to try, we both loved it and ended up by the large tin and get started. We are so happy with the result and the paint covers so well, the colour changes slightly throughout the day with the natural lighting.
