Pale Powder

A gentle aqua

Our most popular shade of aqua is a lighter version of an archived Farrow & Ball colour, Powder Blue. Pale Powder has an unparalleled softness and in north facing rooms can read almost as a delicate grey, but it is rarely cold due to the addition of green pigment. It is a great favourite for use in pretty attic bedrooms where it can be brushed onto both ceiling and walls to create an airy feeling of light and space.

Recommended Primer & Undercoat: White & Light Tones

Complementary white: Pointing

Back in 2010, we moved our entire range to an eco-friendly water base that’s low odour, low VOC and child-safe, becoming the first in the industry to do so. Easy to clean without harmful solvents, in tins that can be recycled again and again, our paints help to reduce the environmental impact of redecorating your home.

Every one of our paint colours is available in a range of durable interior and exterior paint finishes, each rigorously tested to ensure an exceptional depth of colour and long-lasting finish. For the very best results, we always recommend using a Farrow & Ball Primer & Undercoat – see above for the correct tone for this colour.

All Farrow & Ball finishes except Limewash contain isothiazolinones, which may produce an allergic reaction. Farrow & Ball Limewash contains calcium hydroxide which can cause severe damage in contact with skin or eyes. Rated 5 out of 5 by from It is an amazing colour I've had this for years and years now and keep repainting it onto two East facing walls and it is so gentle and beautiful, changing from a bluish white to a translucent aqua to a rich warm pale blue-grey depending on the light. It should go with everything from Scandi and New England to 'romantic' and retro modern (tho perhaps not so much traditional/ classical/ country house). Fantastic colour that I just don't seem to get tired of.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very pretty for north facing kids bedroom I applied it in my son's bedroom, which is facing north. I was looking after something vague between green/blue/grey but fresh and crispy for a young kid. I got it with Pale Powder and can't be happier with the result. Massive thanks F&B for your magic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The colour is as lovely as the reviews said it was I haven’t finished my decorating yet but early signs, and with just one coat on the wall, are very good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Calmest room in the house After playing around with a million light blues, we went for this because we didn’t want a complete absence of warmth. We are so glad we did! It’s absolutely beautiful. Warm, nuanced, almost church-like. Took 4 coats to reach its full potential but was well worth it. Gets lots of comments. This is not a cold colour. It’s gorgeous.
