London Stone

No.6

A warm and timeless brown

A warm mid brown, London Stone was created by John Sutcliffe for a classic Nash house in Regent’s Park. With its underlying magenta tones, this unassuming stone colour is the perfect accent for each of our Red Based Neutrals. It feels effortlessly modern when contrasted with Dimity, either on walls or woodwork, and utterly timeless when paired with the stronger Oxford Stone.

Recommended Primer & Undercoat: Mid Tones

Complementary white: Joa's White

London Stone is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 45.

ECO-FRIENDLY AND CHILD-SAFE

Back in 2010, we moved our entire range to an eco-friendly water base that’s low odour, low VOC and child-safe, becoming the first in the industry to do so. Easy to clean without harmful solvents, in tins that can be recycled again and again, our paints help to reduce the environmental impact of redecorating your home.

QUALITY FINISHES

Every one of our 132 paint colours is available in a range of durable interior and exterior paint finishes, each rigorously tested to ensure an exceptional depth of colour and long-lasting finish. For the very best results, we always recommend using a Farrow & Ball Primer & Undercoat – see above for the correct tone for this colour.

SAFETY INFORMATION

All Farrow & Ball finishes except Limewash contain isothiazolinones, which may produce an allergic reaction. Farrow & Ball Limewash contains calcium hydroxide which can cause severe damage in contact with skin or eyes. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great finish - looks fab! Really easy to apply the estate eggshell to my already painted kitchen cupboards. The final result will hopefully last for years. Very please with the result.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Our first use of Farrow and Ball paint but not our last! Our project was a living room in a Victorian house with some fine period features. We were attracted to the F&B colours but initially hesitated because of the price tag. However we are delighted with the end result. We have used London Stone below the picture rail and Oxford Stone above and these combine beautifully. The result gives the room a warm and tranquil feel and the colour is a lovely backdrop for paintings. We chose to have direct delivery and it was prompt and efficient.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant Paint I have used Farrow & Ball Paint for the past 10 years having stumbled upon them by chance. It gives an excellent finish and dries very quickly which is always a bonus. I now usually buy direct as some of the colours that l have used for years are no longer shown in the sample card, but F&B will make them for you at no extra cost. Yes the paint is pricy, but l find the finish is excellent, it dries very quickly and therefore l would look no further, as l can normally paint the number of coats l require in one day, which is incredible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent finish I'm totally addicted to F&B paint. In my humble opinion there's no other paint like it!..I don't know how they mix the pigments, but it's very unique in the way the colour changes according to the light. I used London Stone Estate Emulsion on the walls, Archive Estate Emulsion on the ceiling, both of which left a rich Matt chalky finish. I painted the woodwork Archive Estate Eggshell, again a beautiful rich finish with a slight sheen. The two colours complement each other perfectly! I'm afraid I didn't use a primer or undercoat, as a consequence of which i ended up applying 3 coats!.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from To paint over black wooden beams. We used London Stone to paint over the black beams in our cottage. The results are amazing - the place is so much lighter and the beams are less oppressive and no longer dominate the room. I would thoroughly recommend this colour to anyone wishing to achieve the same effect.
