Hague Blue

No.30

A deep dark blue

This strong blue takes its name from the fantastically coloured woodwork much used by the Dutch, and still works wonderfully to ground skirtings or as an accent colour on the walls when teamed with Borrowed Light. The green undertones of this timeless, deep and dramatic blue means it sits as happily outside as it does in small dark rooms.

Recommended Primer & Undercoat: Dark Tones

ECO-FRIENDLY AND CHILD-SAFE

Back in 2010, we moved our entire range to an eco-friendly water base that’s low odour, low VOC and child-safe, becoming the first in the industry to do so. Easy to clean without harmful solvents, in tins that can be recycled again and again, our paints help to reduce the environmental impact of redecorating your home.

QUALITY FINISHES

Every one of our 132 paint colours is available in a range of durable interior and exterior paint finishes, each rigorously tested to ensure an exceptional depth of colour and long-lasting finish. For the very best results, we always recommend using a Farrow & Ball Primer & Undercoat – see above for the correct tone for this colour.

SAFETY INFORMATION

All Farrow & Ball finishes except Limewash contain isothiazolinones, which may produce an allergic reaction. Farrow & Ball Limewash contains calcium hydroxide which can cause severe damage in contact with skin or eyes. Customer Reviews
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing coverage and tone I was nervous to spend the amount I did on this product but after reading several blog posts on the value of going for F&B over a colour match, I thought I’d take the plunge. I was not disappointed at all! Whilst the white undercoat for our room took about 45 minutes per coat to roller onto the walls, which we did twice, the F&B took us around 20 minutes per coat. We needed to do 2 coats which is amazing since most other paint we have used in the past has needed at least 3 coats to get blocked colour. Will totally be saving our pennies for the next room and investing in F&B paint

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Marks ridiculously easily but beautiful colour I found this difficult to review. The colour is superb, depth and pigment makes it beautifully rich. My decorator said it was great to work with and he has achieved a seamless finish. However 7 days in and any little touch from hands or fingers seem to mark and trying to remove it makes it worse if theres a solution to this I would highly recommend this paint but currently havent found a remedy. I've used farrow and ball for years but have never experienced this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beautiful colour but dreadful quality and finish We've spent a lot of money renovating our house and wanted a colour to suit our victorian property. This colour is beautiful. It was easy to use but the quality and finish are awful. The slightest knock or finger leaves marks and you can see every stroke. We've tried several coats, brushes and rollers but it still looks dreadful. Won't be purchasing farrow and ball again and I'm disappointed

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cliche perhaps but this is a quality product First time I have used F&B, didn't want to stint on finishing a kitchen. Expensive, of course, but the colour is fantastic and finished very close to the advertised version (which is not always the case). Coverage is excellent too, each coat has a real impact and it is possible to get enormous depth of colour.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Use in your statement room We fell in love with this strong blue and used the gloss on our front door - this colour worked beautifully with our London Victorian cottage and really set off against the old yellow brickwork. We also took the plunge and painted our reception room in the estate emulsion. Having never chosen such a bold and dark colour for a room we didn’t know how it would look, with the room previously being Cornforth White, but we were so overjoyed with the result. It sets off against wood furniture so well and made our artwork stand out more rather than less. We teamed it with Borrowed Light for the ceilings, leaving our skirting and coving and ceiling roses in a brilliant white. A real statement colour and we loved it - and it helped to sell the house when we moved as it really stood out from the competition.
