Drop Cloth

A gentle mid grey beige

Neither too yellow, nor too grey, Drop Cloth is the traditional name for the indispensable painter's dust sheet which this muted colour embodies. A nod to our painters and decorators, this mid grey beige is the perfect contrast to our slightly lighter Shaded White and Shadow White, creating a trio of colours that sit effortlessly together in modern and traditional homes, both large and small.

Recommended Primer & Undercoat: Mid Tones

Complementary white: Shadow White

Drop Cloth is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 76.

Back in 2010, we moved our entire range to an eco-friendly water base that’s low odour, low VOC and child-safe, becoming the first in the industry to do so. Easy to clean without harmful solvents, in tins that can be recycled again and again, our paints help to reduce the environmental impact of redecorating your home.

Every one of our paint colours is available in a range of durable interior and exterior paint finishes, each rigorously tested to ensure an exceptional depth of colour and long-lasting finish. For the very best results, we always recommend using a Farrow & Ball Primer & Undercoat – see above for the correct tone for this colour.

All Farrow & Ball finishes except Limewash contain isothiazolinones, which may produce an allergic reaction. Farrow & Ball Limewash contains calcium hydroxide which can cause severe damage in contact with skin or eyes. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect warm toned greige. Such a lovely colour with beautiful warm tones to it, definitely not cold, in fact the perfect ‘greige’ colour.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Garden furniture revamp Brought for my metal garden furniture. Not used F&B of metal before. Was so pleased with the ease of application and the finished result. Also it has stood the test of time outside and its week wash down with no chipping and discoloring. The color doesn’t distract from the cushions but acts as a wonderful back dropped

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Colour and Beautiful Paint We adore Farrow and Ball paint. It is so beautiful to work with and the finish always looks fabulous no matter which type of finish you buy. We bought Drop Cloth & Smoke Green to update a 1980's kitchen to make it bearable until we modernise in a few years time. It transformed an old dresser and cabinets into something we now feel very proud of. The colour is a grey beige which sits beautifully with smoke green and vintage bronze handles. We will be using Farrow and Ball paint for every project we do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fabulous colour Have painted with many Farrow and Ball colours but when it came to a precious dresser contacted F&B about the primer needed and having used a sample pit knew Drop cloth was for me. They wrote a long and helpful reply and can’t fault their advice or the products. Can’t beat the quality or subtlety of colours
