Cook's Blue

A vibrant blue

Cook’s Blue was inspired by the rich and poignant finish in the cook’s closet at Calke Abbey where the walls had been untouched for many decades. This bright and deeply pigmented colour is perfect for use both in kitchens and exterior eating areas, as this vibrant tone is said to deter flies! But it is perfectly at home anywhere in the house.

Recommended Primer & Undercoat: Mid Tones

Complementary white: All White

Back in 2010, we moved our entire range to an eco-friendly water base that’s low odour, low VOC and child-safe, becoming the first in the industry to do so. Easy to clean without harmful solvents, in tins that can be recycled again and again, our paints help to reduce the environmental impact of redecorating your home.

Every one of our paint colours is available in a range of durable interior and exterior paint finishes, each rigorously tested to ensure an exceptional depth of colour and long-lasting finish. For the very best results, we always recommend using a Farrow & Ball Primer & Undercoat – see above for the correct tone for this colour.

All Farrow & Ball finishes except Limewash contain isothiazolinones, which may produce an allergic reaction. Farrow & Ball Limewash contains calcium hydroxide which can cause severe damage in contact with skin or eyes. Rated 5 out of 5 by from My kind of blue I bought this to make over a bedroom along with 2 others blue shades. I love Cooks Blue for its depth of colour in situ. Having 3 windows in the room means I can go with a deeper shade than I would do normally. Normally considered a cold colour, this isn't!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Oozes quality Applies like a dream and covers remarkably. Only gripe is 750ml is way more than I needed for my front door and so it’s makes it a pricey product that I wouldn’t buy again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely shade I wanted to brighten up my new front door and after sampling lots of shades ended up with this one. It gives a lovely Mediterranean feel to the front of the house . The coverage was great and the colour true and even . My whole house is painted in pointing and even with three kids and a mucky dog it washes well and has kept its colour after 5 years .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fabulous paint I bought this to paint my husbands study. I was a little sceptical as I thought it would be too strident in a small room .However it looks brilliant- rather softer than it appears in the F and B video yet still distinctive and a dream to use being richly pigmented and a creamy consistency
