Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect black for me After a disaster using deluxe satin black gloss On My bannisters, I spashed out on pitch black farrow and ball , my rail was a hard red vanish wood with many yrs use so needed updating. I painted My Hall pale grey and used the black for the stairs and hand rails, what a difference, painted stain cover to start after rubbing down, then used the dark tones undercoat and two top coats of black pitch eggshell , it needs a least 2 weeks to cure hard so go easy on use till then, very pleased first time I attempted a job that size, I now brought to recycle a small hall table to paint in the black hard work but happy with the results I'm 68

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Finish I bought the Pitch Black floor paint to bring new life into very distressed Victorian floorboards that had originally been painted black. First we made sure they were sound and filled in any splits, knocked in nails and fixed loose boards. Then draft proofed using Draughtex before using the Farrow & Ball dark tones undercoat. We then applied 2 coats of Pitch Black. On the first coat we used a brush to get into the joins to ensure the undercoat was fully covered before applying with a small firm foam roller for varnish/paint attached to a long pole. Saves your back! Absolutely over the moon with the result. There’s a beautiful sheen and the room looks amazing now. It seems a much larger room now.
