How to use Farrow & Ball wallpaper samples

2. STICK
Carefully stick your samples up in the room you’re planning to decorate. Move them around and note how the colours respond to different lights throughout the day — including artificial light.
3. SCHEME
Once you’ve fallen in love with a pattern and colourway, check the back of the sample or the product page on our website for suggestions of complementary paint colours to complete your look.

Wallpaper Sample FAQs
How do I know how much I need to order?
If you’re using a decorator, it’s always a good idea to ask their opinion. However, we’re also more than happy to help with an estimation. Simply email us at sales@farrow-ball.com and let us know the paper you're planning to use and measurements of the surfaces being papered (including the height, width and any features that won't need wallpaper, like doors).
Is Farrow & Ball wallpaper “paste the paper” or “paste the wall”?
With the launch of the Heritage Papers collection, we’re now able to offer both types. The three designs in the limited edition Heritage Papers are ‘paste the wall’ with all other papers in our collection being ‘paste the paper’. For full information about hanging our wallpaper, read the Product Advice Sheets for your chosen paper.
What type of paste should I use?
For the best results, we recommend using our own, specially formulated wallpaper paste . With low alkalinity to protect the pattern you love and a tube that doubles as a measuring jug, it’s purpose-made to be the perfect partner.
Farrow & Ball wallpaper paste is not suitable for use on our Gothic , Sweet Pea and Vine Leaf patterns as these are made from non-woven (‘paste the wall’) paper. For the best results with these wallpapers, we recommend using a light to medium-grade, pH-neutral, ready-mixed adhesive.
How long are the wallpaper rolls?
Each roll is 10m long and 53cm wide, except for our Gothic, Sweet Pea and Vine Leaf wallpapers which are 10.05m long and 52cm wide. You can find the details and measurements for the pattern repeat of each paper on its dedicated product page.
Can I return unused wallpaper rolls?
Yes, you can return unopened rolls of wallpaper, apart from Archive wallpapers, which are made to order and therefore can’t be returned. Simply return the rolls to a showroom within 28 days of purchase for a full refund — do make sure to bring proof of purchase with you. We can also arrange to collect the rolls from you, however, any collection fees will be deducted from your refund.
Can I get a free sample?
Yes! Please visit one of our showrooms to choose your free samples of our wallpaper. Please note that samples are not available of our Archive collection patterns, as these papers are made to order. To find your nearest showroom, please visit our showroom finder here.
