Feature Walls
Transform your whole room with just one wall — or ceiling. From wallpaper to a mural or even a simple accent colour, feature walls have the power to completely change how a room feels, from the size to the mood.

Two Toned
Who says a wall has to be one colour? Creating a ‘tideline’ — or painting the lower half of a wall one colour and the top half another — adds extra interest to your space. This technique is particularly helpful for high-traffic areas, where you can also mix finishes and use a more durable option like Full Gloss on the lower half.

Painted Baths
Give your bath the attention it deserves with a touch of paint. Whether you have a free-standing tub or a built-in bath with a panel, consider painting the side to complement or contrast your bathroom scheme. You’ll need to make sure you buy an appropriate primer for your surface.

Front Doors
Transform your front door, inside or out. Railings is a classic choice for a traditional look, or you can create a warm welcome with something brighter like sunny Babouche, cheerful Nancy’s Blushes or rich Beverly. If the weather’s on your side, you can likely tick this task off your list in a day or two — we have a handy guide to help.

Furniture
When it comes to freshening up furniture, the possibilities are almost endless. Chairs, tables, TV stands or even vanity units can take on a whole new lease of life with a little paint. Choose an accent colour to draw the eye or try colour drenching for a wonderfully harmonious feel.

Paneling
Paneling is a wonderful way to create interest and depth in your space — and it’s simple to DIY too. With a few pieces of wood and a spot of paint, you can totally transform a room. From hallways to home offices, board and batten to shiplap, here are a few of our favourite paneling projects.

Painted Woodwork
Often overlooked, skirting boards, window frames and door architraves can have more of an impact than you might think. Painting your trim in a statement shade not only adds extra interest to your space, but if you choose a darker colour than your walls, it makes the room seem bigger and brighter. It’s one of the oldest (and best loved) tricks in the book.

Shelving and Storage
Practical doesn’t have to mean boring. A pop of colour in the back of a bookcase or a freshly painted set of shelves will brighten up any room. Try a colour that complements your walls for a subtle feature or go bold with a contrasting shade for more of a statement.

Fences
Country courtyard or urban oasis, the colour of your fence plays a part in the overall feel of your outdoor space. A natural hue will subtly complement your garden for a harmonious, relaxing feel, while a neutral, black or bold tone will create contrast, letting your foliage take centre stage.
