Today, we’re taking a look at wonderful Wevet. This shade is so delicate it’s barely there but it’s still made its mark as a firm Farrow & Ball favourite. The inspiration behind its name is similarly subtle. Colour Curator Joa Studholme explains:
‘Wevet is my favourite name. We wanted to make a colour, which was almost transparent, see through, barely there. We were thinking about things which conjured that up and of course a spider's web is the obvious thing. The Dorset dialect for spider’s web is Wevet and Farrow & Ball is a company from Dorset, so it felt absolutely perfect.’
A Delicate Scheme
‘If you're looking for a scheme for Wevet, you could put it with virtually any Farrow & Ball colour. Because it's delicate, it works really well with other delicate colours like Tailor Tack and Cabbage White.’
A Neutral Scheme
‘Wevet is part of our Relaxed Neutrals group. You have Wevet (the lightest of the group), then Ammonite, then Cornforth White (a little stronger) and the strongest of all is Purbeck Stone. Four colours I promise you will work in any combination.’
