Today for Lessons In Colour, we’re strolling through the Farrow & Ball Hall of Fame to meet Mizzle. Flitting between green and grey, this elusive shade has a magical, changing quality. Although it’s inspired by wet weather, Mizzle never feels cold or uninviting.
‘Mizzle, glorious Mizzle,’ says Joa, ‘has this fantastic sort of uncertain feel about it, just like the ever-changing sky.
‘Mizzle definitely has a certain softness. It’s packed with green, so it never feels cold. In north facing rooms it will feel a little bit greener and in south facing rooms it becomes softer and bluer.’
Relaxed Scheme
‘One of the great things about Mizzle is that it is super relaxed. You literally walk into the room and your shoulders drop. If you have Mizzle on the walls, you might use Cromarty on the ceiling and Pigeon on the trim. They’re all one colour family.
Bolder Scheme
‘For a more punchy scheme, you could perhaps use Mizzle on the walls with Hopper Head (one of our newer colours) on the trim, and Mizzle’s complementary white, School House White on the ceiling.’
