The smoky green blue tones of Green Smoke were originally favoured in 19th-century interiors, and it still works today, thanks to its ability to evoke a sense of calm and serenity. It’s also an incredibly versatile colour, which you can discover if you take a stroll through the streets of Notting Hill in London where you’ll see it used to fabulous effect on exteriors.

Green Smoke remains a favourite colour for Joa Studholme, Colour Curator for Farrow & Ball. As she shared, “I used it to paint my little boy’s nursery 35 years ago - it just felt like the perfect grounding colour to welcome him to the world, and I am pleased to say he now has it painted in the hall of his own home.”

A Colour-led Scheme

"There is an enduring love affair between green and pink, so we're still seeing Templeton Pink and Setting Plaster used with these greens."

A Sophisticated Scheme

“I love to pair Green Smoke with its darker counterpoint, Douter…there’s a real subtlety in that and tempered with Light Gray, a strong neutral.”
