How to Use Our Most Searched Colours

Written on 22nd October 2020

Among our most searched-for colours on farrow-ball.com, Hague Blue and Ammonite are currently taking the top spots. So, we decided to put together a few of our favourite looks showcasing the best of each hue, to show you how these very different but equally versatile colours can be used at home.

Hague Blue

From front doors to feature walls, kitchen cabinets to kids’ rooms, we’ve seen almost every kind of surface brought to life with Hague Blue – and its popularity is hardly surprising. With its distinct green undertones, this rich and complex blue is a wonderful alternative to a classic navy, but just as usable. Try it in easy-to-clean Modern Emulsion for a contemporary kitchen look, or Estate Emulsion in a bedroom, where the velvety finish of the paint will enhance the rich depth of the blue.

Ammonite

Ammonite is a long-standing Farrow & Ball favourite, and it’s no mystery why. This subtle pale grey paint colour can be used anywhere you’d consider a white, on walls, ceilings, trim, or even floors. Its barely-there hint of pigment allows it to fit in with both contemporary and traditional looks, making it a truly versatile neutral – try it in a room with our Easy Neutrals group for an effortless look, or treat floorboards to a lick of Ammonite Modern Eggshell for a fresh feel.
