In all our dealings with Hague Blue (and we’ve had a lot) we’ve never seen a surface it didn’t suit. This deliciously deep blue has worked its magic on everything from front doors to fire surrounds and, thanks to the creativity of our social media followers, it shows no signs of stopping.

Exhibits A through E: these five imaginative ways with Hague Blue. Taken from real Farrow & Ball homes, they show this beloved blue paint at its versatile best.

On Kitchen Cabinets

Boldly coloured kitchens have become big news in recent years, and the colours don’t come much bolder than Hague Blue.

This kitchen by @somethingbluehome combines inky blue cabinets with bright brass cup handles for a sophisticated look.

Teamed with our soft grey Dove Tale on walls and the sloping ceiling, it’s the most satisfying culinary pairing since strawberries and cream.

On Every Surface

Another decorating trend, another star turn for Hague Blue. This cosy living room by @theknottedtouch is a masterclass in colour drenching, featuring our deep dark blue on every available surface including the walls, woodwork, fire surround, and ceiling.

For the same velvety finish, try our chalky matt Estate Emulsion on your walls and ceiling.

On Your Exterior

In natural sunlight, Hague Blue appears lighter and more muted. This gives the colour an altogether different character – one that suits @willowtreewilby’s Suffolk cottage down to the ground.

Against the deep blue, Cooking Apple Green (on the window and door frames) appears even fresher, and mimics the greenery of the surrounding countryside.

To recreate the look for your own great outdoors, look no further than our weather-resistant Exterior Eggshell.

On Just One Feature

When it comes to adding a pop of colour to an otherwise neutral room, this space by @evan__edward has got us thinking outside the box.

Beams, radiators, skirting, window frames, and any other architectural bits and bobs you care to name – they’re all great candidates for a lick of Hague Blue.

To transform your own wood or metal features, try our super-tough Modern Eggshell finish, available in every colour.

On Panelling

Something about the combination of Hague Blue and board and batten panelling just seems so very right.

In @house_on_the_way’s living room, this winning combination is paired with the cushiest velvet sofa and elegant accessories for an inviting, enticing effect.

Our favourite takeaway tip from this look?  Bringing the doors and trim in on the Hague Blue fun, which only adds to the cocooning feel.
