Walls, Ceiling and Woodwork:
inMeet the Brownstone Boys: Jordan and Barry. Inspired by Sesame Street, the interior designers dreamt of living on a brownstone street as children. As adults, they’ve made that dream come true. However, seven years after moving in, their treasured home needed a little refresh. Cue our Colour Consultant, who used their insight into our colours and finishes to complement Jordan and Barry’s own design prowess.
Front Door:
in Exterior Eggshell‘We worked with a Colour Consultant,’ they explained, ‘which was an incredible experience. They had a vast wealth of knowledge that was really beneficial for us. Even as interior designers, we learnt so much.’
They transformed three spaces: the hallway, the office and the basement speakeasy. In each one, our Dead Flat® finish took centre stage, drenching every surface in deep, durable colour. Safe to say, Jordan and Barry love the results:
‘All three spaces look amazing. They are what we wanted them to be and what we need them to be. And I really think that Dead Flat® is a timeless finish that will definitely help us get through the next seven years in our home.’
Let’s take a look around.

on the walls and ceiling complements the wooden detailing beautifully, while the finish adds much-needed practicality.‘We really wanted to make sure that this is not only a beautiful area but also a really durable space. It's not only where we come and go, but we have deliveries coming in throughout the day. We also store our bikes here a lot, and in the summertime, the Dead Flat® paint really gives us that durability. We can wipe it clean, and most of the time you can't do that with flat paint.’
Office
Walls, Ceiling and Woodwork:
inJordan and Barry knew exactly what they wanted to achieve in their office: ‘It was important for us to have a space where we can relax but also be very productive. And we wanted the tones of this room to inspire us.’
Luckily, we had just the shade for the job — ‘It is by far my favourite thing in our house now.’

Walls, Cupboards and Ceiling:
inMost homes don’t have a speakeasy in the basement but after seeing the extraordinary room Jordan and Barry have created, we think they should. Rich, inviting
cocoons this room in colour, adding to the atmosphere of a secret, sought-after space. What impressed Barry and Jordan most, however, was the pioneering practicality of our paint:
‘It's just crazy that we were able to use the same paint on every surface in this space and it looks beautiful in every location. I feel like before we knew about Dead Flat, that was a big no-no.’
