An understated grey

Cornforth White is the mid tone in the group of Easy Neutrals which are totally understated and extremely versatile. Neither too warm nor too cool, Cornforth White sits contentedly between Ammonite and Purbeck Stone to create a hushed and calming retreat. Key features

The finest ingredients

The finest ingredients

We’re dedicated to perfecting the art of paint. At our home in Dorset, we combine the finest ingredients, 75 years of experience and technical precision to help you create beautiful spaces that stay beautiful. Even in our colour rich paints, less than 8% of the tin is the colour. The other 92% is what creates the quality, depth and extraordinary response to light that transforms your home.

Paint is like coffee. The colour is the froth on the top, but it’s the quality of the rest of the cup that makes it taste good.
– Richard Ball, Farrow & Ball Co-founder

We use twelve exclusive pigments, all specifically selected for their colour intensity. We take colour seriously, so naturally, we only accept the very best. By using these same pigments to make every colour in our palette, all our shades combine effortlessly, making it easy for you to put together a cohesive colour scheme.

Deeper, richer colours

Deeper, richer colours

Packed with pigment for an extraordinary response to every kind of light.

We add generous helpings of rich pigment to create our signature look – deep colours with complex undertones. The same space that feels bright and airy in morning sun, can feel cosy and intimate by evening. Our teams design each shade under every kind of light, so it will be perfectly balanced in every setting.

Extraordinary response to light

Extraordinary response to light

We spend months carefully crafting and testing each of our paint colours to make sure they share our signature extraordinary response to light. This beautiful reaction to changing light, like bringing out different undertones or shifting intensity, is what makes our paint so special.

Interior and exterior finishes

Interior and exterior finishes

From walls, floors and furniture to radiators, skirtings and sheds, our range of paint finishes can help you transform almost any surface in your home (and outside it, too).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I never tire of Cornforth White I have Cornforth White in a few rooms & never tire of it, it’s such a calm & neutral colour. On work video calls when working from home, I’m always asked what colour my walls are. However it was my first time using the Dead Flat finish, it applied very smoothly & the quick drying time allowed for efficient work, &the durability ensures a long-lasting finish.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Depth of Hue This is a warm, soft grey, light with a touch of lavender in it. Using Estate Emulsion in a bathroom with porcelain tile floor and walls. It brings out the veining in the tile and is a nice complement to the white fixtures. I used to rely on BM, but FB quality cannot be topped.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The perfect light grey We used this colour for a Master Bedroom, our Client particularly likes more cool grey tones and this was the perfect colour for them. It's not too dark or light and has a warm undertone to it. The Client was a really pleased with the result.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from colette stole my chill room…oh well it suits her cannot get enough of the tone of cornforth white on the floor couple with F&B wall paper and setting plaster trim and pipe. something about it reminds me of my grandma’s kimono.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Flawless colour and paint, shame about the fumes. Used internally as I wanted something a bit more robust for house with kids. The fumes was over powering. There should have be advice for reducing fumes when used internally.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Dries far too quickly U diluted the paint was going from wet to tacky in a matter of seconds. So going over a painted area 30 seconds later meant the paint was stripped from the wall. Diluting by approximately 10% made life easier, but not a lot. The diluted paint did roll better when diluted . But now having to spend more £s as having to use at least 2 coates. In store advice was that one 2,5 l tin would be enough.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cornforth White No. 228: has the hue changed? We used this lovely paint when we modernised our Victorian kitchen back in 2008. We repainted the walls using the same paint pot about 5 years ago. I recently bought a new pot and to my dismay find that it is a considerable lighter colour. What can explain this? What can I do?
