A rich teal

This rich teal takes its name from highly decorated traditional horse drawn Romany wagons. Often used in the intricate patterning of these beautifully painted homes, Vardo is so full of life and joy it seemed natural to name it after something renowned for its flamboyant colour. This bright colour works particularly well with reds or dark greys.

Recommended Primer & Undercoat: Dark Tones

Complementary white: Shaded White

Back in 2010, we moved our entire range to an eco-friendly water base that’s low odour, low VOC and child-safe, becoming the first in the industry to do so. Easy to clean without harmful solvents, in tins that can be recycled again and again, our paints help to reduce the environmental impact of redecorating your home.

Every one of our paint colours is available in a range of durable interior and exterior paint finishes, each rigorously tested to ensure an exceptional depth of colour and long-lasting finish. For the very best results, we always recommend using a Farrow & Ball Primer & Undercoat – see above for the correct tone for this colour.

All Farrow & Ball finishes except Limewash contain isothiazolinones, which may produce an allergic reaction. Farrow & Ball Limewash contains calcium hydroxide which can cause severe damage in contact with skin or eyes. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great with dark grey Our large open plan sitting room needed some deep colours to make it feel homely and Tanara at the Summertown store in Oxford was very knowledgeable and helpful. It looks stunning. Photo is panoramic and obviously not yet furnished but it gives an idea.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Such depth of colour We recently painted our bedroom with this beautiful Vardo, and we love the result. Contrary to what some people warned us, it has not made the room feel smaller or darker. The colour is so complex and deep, it looks different with the differing light throughout the day and night, and really is stunning. Absolutely love it. We used a 5L tub and it easily did all 4 walls with 2 coats, with a 3rd coat for good measure on the main, largest wall. We were novices at painting, but easily got a good, even covering as the paint is such good quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Textural and deep Have an awkward wall in bedroom as it has a protruding pillar and fireplace. Decided against wallpaper as wanted to blend the wall in and feared even with plain papers joins might show. Used two dark undercoat and two top coats and I'm surprised by depth of colour and velvety texture. Used the estate paint. This is a North facing room. The other walls are an existing deluxe paint called chalk burst but I would prefer a contrasting F and B. The paint work is satinwood dulux green earth. Vardo is dark. It is the perfect teal. I see a very faint green in it and possibly red. It is gorgeous

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Divine The colour is absolutely divine and a dream to paint with. It's a beautiful, almost irridescent teal that isn't garishly bright, but instead really rich and warm. I love watching how the change in light over the day also changes the colour on the wall. To get it even we did need three coats, but it was so, so worth it.
