A classic stone
This strong neutral is one of our most popular wallpaper background colours, so we couldn’t resist adding it to our collection of richly pigmented paints. A classic stone colour, Stony Ground has a slight underlying red which adds warmth and creates a soft beige finish. It pairs incredibly well with the lighter Shaded White or stronger Mouse’s Back for a quietly cohesive scheme.

#1 F&B Paint!
I have used Stony Ground for a number of years and it is a fantastic colour. It is a warm earthy tone reading between pale beige and green. It is never drab and pairs really well with muted fabrics or more contemporary pieces. I have used it in rooms with Lime White for skirting and wood work, but also as a wood work eggshell against Mouses Back and Slipper Satin. All three combinations work brilliantly. I find for walls two coats is enough for walls, but wood work will need three coats. In summary, oOf all of the F&B paints, I think it is probably the best allround colour that would suit any home.

Sophisticated Colour
We have previously used this colour in our bedroom which has a colour scheme of gold and black upholstery on a french bed; soft rust & gold curtains with cherry wood Grange Furniture, and soft stone/cream carpeting It's a fantastic back drop to these colours and we are about to use it again in our new home as we love it so much. Works equally well in a contemporary or period environment - the colour can look a soft grey or more beige in bright sunlight but either way it doesn't disappoint. Looks fantastic and moody in the evening with table lamps. About to use Fawn (which is similar) so will let you know.
