Savage Ground

No.213

A strong neutral stone

This yellow based stone hue was first created as a background colour for our wallpapers but was quickly added to our paint collection by popular request. Named after Dennis Savage, a block printer who was instrumental in the creation of our very first wallpaper designs, this warm and timeless neutral sits beautifully on both clapboard and panelling.

ECO-FRIENDLY AND CHILD-SAFE

Back in 2010, we moved our entire range to an eco-friendly water base that’s low odour, low VOC and child-safe, becoming the first in the industry to do so. Easy to clean without harmful solvents, in tins that can be recycled again and again, our paints help to reduce the environmental impact of redecorating your home.

QUALITY FINISHES

Every one of our paint colours is available in a range of durable interior and exterior paint finishes, each rigorously tested to ensure an exceptional depth of colour and long-lasting finish. For the very best results, we always recommend using a Farrow & Ball Primer & Undercoat – see above for the correct tone for this colour.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Makes for a cosy room This colour is warm and earthy, giving a cosy feel to the room, in this case a bedroom. Like being surrounded by honey coloured cottages and works nicely with ‘down pipe.’ Can look very different depending on the light.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful paint Second room I’ve painted with Farrow & Ball. It goes on so easy and gives the most amazing finish.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong neutral I’m not usually a fan of “boring neutrals” but this is perfect for our large old farmhouse kitchen. It makes the room feel cosier, ties in with old stone and woodwork, and offsets our duck egg blue cabinets perfectly. Not too yellow, or grey - love it! And with that lovely f&b softness of finish. Confession: I did try colour matching a sample pot and it was horrid - ugly dull brown. Remarkable difference.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great colour and finish We use the Modern emulsion for the hall, stairs and landing. High traffic area of our family home. The Modern emulsion has a wipable finish but still with the classic Farrow and Ball chalk look. The colour Savage Ground is a good shade for our house being an old farm house with lots of original features.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Colours for an old house I have used 3 large tins of emulsion. The colour looks really good against the old beams. I’ve also used it on my kitchen units. All excellent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pleased to find a match I knew my house was painted with F&B paints, and needed to touch up where a pelmet had been replaced. Using the excellent charts, I have been able to find a match, so can now repaint. a good deep yet natural colour.
