A deep chocolate brown
This warm drab has a two-part name combining ‘salon’, the small outer room off a drawing room, with a term that describes a colour as lacking in brightness. The richness of this chocolate brown is instantly appealing, effortlessly creating a modern look or classic 19th century feel. Salon Drab works as a dark accompaniment to both the Red Based and Contemporary Neutrals.

More chocolate-y than expected
I used the estate eggshell on some panelling for a bathroom (after using the dark tones undercoat). The paint went on beautifully and I barely needed the second coat as it covered so well. It really was lovely to use (and this is compared to other F&B estate eggshell paints not just other brands).
I had picked the colour to go with a patterned floor tile which I had even brought into a F&B shop to match against the sample colour boards. However the colour, when applied, is still a little more chocolate-coloured than I hoped..... and yes I know it is described as chocolate on the website but both the tester board in the shop and the colour on the colour chart show it darker and greyer than it is in real life (perhaps because they are estate emulsion? perhaps the slight shine on eggshell paint lightens it?).
As you paint it on, the colour is like melted milk chocolate but it does dry much darker (just not quite dark enough for me!).
Sorry for the terrible photo (and unfinished room!) but I thought even a bad picture would be better than nothing.

Love, love, love
Used it to add interest to a bathroom previously painted in strong white and pavilion grey. Did not use undercoat and took 3 good coats to get coverage but love the end product. Needed to paint ceiling as well as walls due to slope of ceiling resulting in a warm and atmospheric room.
