Pale Hound

No.71

Delicately aged yellow

This pale and aged yellow is a lighter version of an archived Farrow & Ball colour, Hound Lemon. Named by the great colourist John Fowler, the story behind its namesake remains a mystery! Pale Hound sits particularly well in sunny spaces where it reads as a light and delicate yellow, and in garden rooms where its underlying green pigment connects seamlessly with the exterior.

ECO-FRIENDLY AND CHILD-SAFE

Back in 2010, we moved our entire range to an eco-friendly water base that’s low odour, low VOC and child-safe, becoming the first in the industry to do so. Easy to clean without harmful solvents, in tins that can be recycled again and again, our paints help to reduce the environmental impact of redecorating your home.

QUALITY FINISHES

Every one of our 132 paint colours is available in a range of durable interior and exterior paint finishes, each rigorously tested to ensure an exceptional depth of colour and long-lasting finish. For the very best results, we always recommend using a Farrow & Ball Primer & Undercoat – see above for the correct tone for this colour.

SAFETY INFORMATION

All Farrow & Ball finishes except Limewash contain isothiazolinones, which may produce an allergic reaction. Farrow & Ball Limewash contains calcium hydroxide which can cause severe damage in contact with skin or eyes. Customer Reviews
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect finish Absolutely love the quality of the paint, the ease of applying it and the lack of paint aroma. It looks amazing in our dining room.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Air & Variation As usual F&B paint is very easy to work with. On some surfaces we needed to apply more than two coats to get coverage with the eggshell. It is completely true that this paint appears green is darker areas, yellow in brighter areas through to a full cream in redder light from late afternoon sun reflected in off external brickwork.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent results The colour (Pale Hound) was used as a contrast to grey and charcoal kitchen fittings, it is clean and bright while still being quite subtle. Both the application and finish are excellent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It does what it says on the tin I love this colour. I have used it in a room that has a north & south aspect and when extension was added to the south side i decided to carry the colour through. The changing light during the day means that the colour is sometimes pale yellow and sometimes a little green.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Bright but difficult to combine We used it in a scottish baronial house from 1860's in a room facing the north and the garden. Walls in estate emulsion, woodwork in eggshell finish. the decorative mouldings of the shutters in red earth no. 64. it look very oldfashioned but 100 percent perfect to make a room looking like it could have been in the past. it is a bright colour but difficult to combine with other colours. All White would go at best on woodwork in combination for sure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My first choice in paint. Never been disappointed with F&B paint, but would urge buyers to get the samples brochure, because colours on website are nothing like the real thing..
