A fresh mid blue

This fresh mid blue’s name comes from the shade of the sea at beautiful Lulworth Cove, Dorset. Typical of a formal Regency hue, Lulworth Blue sits happily alongside similarly clean Wimborne White and Parma Gray. Despite its brightness, it can promote deep and peaceful sleep when used in low lit rooms, especially when used on both walls and woodwork.

Complementary white: Blackened

Key features

The finest ingredients

The finest ingredients

We’re dedicated to perfecting the art of paint. At our home in Dorset, we combine the finest ingredients, 75 years of experience and technical precision to help you create beautiful spaces that stay beautiful. Even in our colour rich paints, less than 8% of the tin is the colour. The other 92% is what creates the quality, depth and extraordinary response to light that transforms your home.

Paint is like coffee. The colour is the froth on the top, but it’s the quality of the rest of the cup that makes it taste good.
– Richard Ball, Farrow & Ball Co-founder

We use twelve exclusive pigments, all specifically selected for their colour intensity. We take colour seriously, so naturally, we only accept the very best. By using these same pigments to make every colour in our palette, all our shades combine effortlessly, making it easy for you to put together a cohesive colour scheme.

Deeper, richer colours

Deeper, richer colours

Packed with pigment for an extraordinary response to every kind of light.

We add generous helpings of rich pigment to create our signature look – deep colours with complex undertones. The same space that feels bright and airy in morning sun, can feel cosy and intimate by evening. Our teams design each shade under every kind of light, so it will be perfectly balanced in every setting.

Extraordinary response to light

Extraordinary response to light

We spend months carefully crafting and testing each of our paint colours to make sure they share our signature extraordinary response to light. This beautiful reaction to changing light, like bringing out different undertones or shifting intensity, is what makes our paint so special.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great paint but color dried a bit too dark A beautiful blue but be cautioned that the actual color dries much darker than the swatch color. I mixed in 2-3 cups of Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace Advance High Gloss and it resulted in the perfect shade for my application with a high sheen. Make sure you have some full gloss white to lighten the color if looking for a more airy, lighter sky blue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lulworth Blue A perfect shade of blue, might have to use it in another room as well. Absolutely beautiful

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks like th sky on a beautiful day Beautiful paint, the shade changes throughout the day, looks great

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Floating in the sky I wanted a different colour for my bedroom originally but oh my am I happy we ended up with this one. It makes me so happy to wake up surrounded by this rich sky blue, and it turns nice and muted when it gets dark outside as well - never overly bright or offensive in any way. It’s not an IT’S A BOY! baby blue which is something I worried about - the shade is lovely & premium. I’d highly recommend painting everything (walls/ceiling) same colour as it adds to the soothing feeling.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rich, velvety finish Beautiful colour, covered the sample wood well and two coats produced a rich, velvety finish.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Try it its perfect Ideal shade of blue used previously externally and really maintained its colour and gloss

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely finish It came out a bit darker than expected, but looks really good. As usual, it went on really well, 2 coats covering well. The modern emulsion is tough and perfect for the kitchen. Very pleased. The coverage estimate was completely out. We measured carefully and ordered 5 litres, but 2.5 would have done it, so have loads left over. Paint doesn't keep well in metal cans once the lid has been removed - plastic is better - so I hope I don't have to throw expensive paint away.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Coolest of Blues Beautiful colour and so calming and fresh in our bedroom

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A beautiful calm blue Painted our living room in Lulworth Blue estate emulsion and we are delighted with the results. One coat of the recommended primer and two coats of paint gave that wonderful deep colour you get from F&B paint. Barely any odour which is another reason why I always pick this brand. We painted the woodwork in Wevet estate eggshell and it’s a nice combination I think.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A beautiful fresh seaside blue Painted my son's bedroom in this colour. I love how the blue reminds me of Cornwall and the enticing inviting sea. When the window is open on a summer's day I could be there on the beach, instead of grimy old London!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Colours are only true on the object I'm sorry to say, the colour on the card, nor the colour in the tin is the one I expected. I know every under layer is different but they both really are not 100% what I was looking for. I do like the paint I used, but again, sorry not 100%.
