Our warmest brown
A warm and charming brown, London Clay is loaded with magenta pigment for a rich, earthy hue that creates the most charismatic and elegant of rooms. So named because it is a deeper accent to London Stone, consider using this dark brown in a hall or transitional area to make the rooms coming off it feel much lighter and brighter. London Clay is also the perfect accent for both Elephant's Breath and Charleston Gray.

Sophisticated and restful
We painted the walls and slanting uprights of our loft bedroom in London Clay, with Slipper Satin on the thin uppermost ceiling strip and window recesses and Tanner's Brown on the skirting and door. The room had previously been Dulux brilliant white, and we were worried that the new colour scheme might feel dark and claustrophobic. We could not have been more wrong - the overall effect is surprisingly spacious. As other reviewers have said, this colour seems to recede when you look at it. But it creates an atmosphere of intimacy and calm sophistication. We loved it so much that we have used it to paint our bathroom, again to spectacular effect (with Tanner's Brown on the woodwork).

Elegant and particularly effective in small rooms
I used London Clay on the walls and ceiling of a small bedroom and it's now the elegant, sophisticated space I had hoped it could become. The surfaces seem to vanish in medium to low light. I used Estate Emulsion and the softness of the finish is exquisite; it can be set off to great effect by contrasting textures elsewhere in the room (I paired it with taffeta drapes). Gold and black look great against it, as do a wide range of reds, pinks, and purples. A ravishing color. Highly recommended.
