A traditional grey
This traditional grey was originally created to touch up the old limewash at Hardwick Hall and doesn’t look very white to most, unless contrasted with strong shades like Off-Black. Less blue than Lamp Room Gray and with an unsurpassed depth of colour, Hardwick White’s rich and chalky hue sits just as well in a contemporary room as it does in a historic house.

Stunning colour
I was suggested Hardwick white to go with an Inchyra Blue feature wall in my east facing living room. I must admit that from the colour chart I wouldn’t have picked out this colour, I have purbeck stone in the hallway which I love, and I was worried in case this looked too dark. How wrong I was! It is a really warm colour that changes with the light throughout the day. Everyone who has seen the room some I painted it has commented on the colour and said how nice it is.
I went for modern emulsion as I have a 7 year old son and 2 labradors, so something hard wearing is an absolute must for me. The paint goes on beautifully - I couldn’t be happier

A beautiful, matty grey-green. A classic.
I actually thought Harwick white would be a lot paler and lighter on the walls, however I am not disappointed. Depending on the time of day, it changes from sage green to a greeny grey to an almost blue-grey in my south facing room. I prepped the walls the a generic and cheap base coat which did the job. The walls are old and required three coats - this is no reflection of the paint, just the old walls and my painting abilities. The final result paired with off-white architraving and fire surround is beautiful. I adore it. Don't let the initial colour out you off - I had cold feet, but the result is really lovely.
