A deep dark blue
This strong blue takes its name from the fantastically coloured woodwork much used by the Dutch, and still works wonderfully to ground skirtings or as an accent colour on the walls when teamed with Borrowed Light. The green undertones of this timeless, deep and dramatic blue means it sits as happily outside as it does in small dark rooms.

Really professional finish
Bought estate eggshell and primer to repaint our wooden kitchen cupboards which are 12 years old and showing some signs of wear and tear. Had a quote from a professional painter to get them done which was nearly £2000 so bit the bullet and decided to do it myself. Read up on the Farrow and Ball website to find out the best preparation and methods and ordered paint online which was delivered very quickly. The primer/undercoat went on ok, but I was really nervous about getting a decent topcoat with no brush marks etc. The estate eggshell (Hague Blue) went on like a dream and everyone who has seen the kitchen has been amazed that it is all my own work!

Striking colour
We decided to take the plunge and paint our sitting room floor to ceiling (including all skirting and woodwork) this deep, rich colour. It has completely transformed the room and made it feel extremely grown up, with a sort of clubby feel which is much more sophisticated than the off-white we had before. Looks great with dark antique furniture, and makes any bright coloured upholstery/ornaments/paintings really sing and zing. Will elicit gasps of approval from new visitors! My only caveat is that it marks easily and you may need to touch up little patches every now and then - keep a tester pot for this purpose.
