Charleston Gray

A deep, warm grey

A warm and muted grey, Charleston Gray is named after the much loved home of the equally artistic and intellectual Bloomsbury Group in West Sussex. Very popular for use in modern living rooms, its brown undertones create a warm, enveloping and hushed atmosphere. It is the perfect accent colour for all the warm Contemporary Neutrals or can be used on woodwork with rich Brinjal.

Recommended Primer & Undercoat: Dark Tones

Complementary white: Skimming Stone

Charleston Gray is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 94.

Back in 2010, we moved our entire range to an eco-friendly water base that’s low odour, low VOC and child-safe, becoming the first in the industry to do so. Easy to clean without harmful solvents, in tins that can be recycled again and again, our paints help to reduce the environmental impact of redecorating your home.

Every one of our paint colours is available in a range of durable interior and exterior paint finishes, each rigorously tested to ensure an exceptional depth of colour and long-lasting finish. For the very best results, we always recommend using a Farrow & Ball Primer & Undercoat – see above for the correct tone for this colour.

All Farrow & Ball finishes except Limewash contain isothiazolinones, which may produce an allergic reaction. Farrow & Ball Limewash contains calcium hydroxide which can cause severe damage in contact with skin or eyes. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent! Struggling to find a colour we liked to paint our old wooden bookcases, I tried F&B for the first time. What a find! I love the way your paint goes on so smoothly, the coverage is brilliant and the finish of your Estate Eggshell is just lovely. Thank you F&B!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Colour & Finish Only decorated our kitchen recently but was not happy with the finish from another paint company, chose F&B as I had used it before and loved the finish and coverage, I used Wimborne White on the ceiling as it has a warmer look to it than bright white and Charleston Gray on the walls, well the results are outstanding such a lovely colour for the kitchen it really compliments our units and appliances, the modern emulsion on the walls can easily be wiped down and in a kitchen that is essential, if I could give 10 stars I would

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Improving an already great product Delighted to have a suitable F&B paint for those areas that get splashed with water and soap next to the sink. Keeping the fresh and newly painted look even better now. So easy to apply and fantastic coverage of existing surfaces.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Painting furniture I've often used Farrow and Ball Dead Flat paint on furniture. It's easy to apply and the finish is always great. Even if the surface has a few knocks and bruises, the paint covers them beautifully.
