A protective olive green

This mid-century modern green is a darker version of the much loved archive colour, Olive. Perfect for those who want to embrace stronger colour in the home, its sober tone creates rooms that feel calm and serene - especially when combined with soft pinks and browns. Named after Japanese tea leaves, Bancha, like a cup of green tea, provides a feeling of security.

Recommended Primer & Undercoat: Dark Tones

Complementary white: Shaded White

Bancha is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 103.

They are also certified child- and baby-safe in accordance with Safety of Toys Part 3: Migration of certain elements (EN 71-3:2019+A1:2021).

Every one of our paint colours is available in a range of durable interior and exterior paint finishes, each rigorously tested to ensure an exceptional depth of colour and long-lasting finish. For the very best results, we always recommend using a Farrow & Ball Primer & Undercoat – see above for the correct tone for this colour.

All Farrow & Ball finishes except Limewash contain isothiazolinones, which may produce an allergic reaction. Farrow & Ball Limewash contains calcium hydroxide which can cause severe damage in contact with skin or eyes. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect This is a lovely rich olive green that compliments shaded white that we have used on the surrounding walls. Bancha is perfect for the feature wall and compliments the times in our fireplace as an added bonus! Highly recommend the primer too which was a lovely colour initself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Favourite F&B Colour I was skeptical because of some of the reviews. But, this colour is gorgeous. This 'olive-y green' colour has always been my favourite and decided to try it in our ensuite. It did not disappoint! We paired with Setting Plaster for the cabinets and skirting boards, and Pitch Black for the door, for a modern, stylish look. Highly recommend this colour.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful colour especially for Christmas time I tried to find the perfect dark green for our dining room, after trying multiple samples from F&B and other places. But Bacha came out as the winner for this one!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The perfect olive green I bought Bancha + James White for a two-tone split wall in our north-facing office. The paint was easy to apply and dried down to a gorgeous, rich olive. It's exactly what I wanted, and the room has such a vibrant character compared to the unappealing beige it was before.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the colour! We were looking for a bold colour to go in our en suite having already chose French Gray for the bedroom walls and we couldn’t be happier. Bancha is so deep and earthy and contrasts perfectly with the subtle green of French Gray.
