Painted in Sulking Room Pink No.295 | Modern Emulsion; Paean Black No.294 | Modern Eggshell

Farrow & Ball paints are born and bred in Dorset, England, our home since 1946. Founders John Farrow and Richard Ball were passionate about creating richly pigmented paint to original formulations using age-old methods, and it’s a passion that is matched by our craftsmen today.

Our distinctive palette of eco-friendly paints is renowned for its depth and complexity. Brimming with only the finest ingredients and rich pigments, our paint responds extraordinarily to all types of light to bring your walls to life. This unique look transforms modern and traditional homes, large and small, inside and out, across the world.

Each colour tells a story, whether it’s inspired by the beauty of nature, our Dorset home, historic houses or notable people and places. Discover hushed tones such as Elephant’s Breath, hues as deep as Hague Blue and the exact shade of our Borrowed Light.

What's in a tin?

  1. We start by mixing chalk, china clay and titanium dioxide with water to create our base paint.

  2. Next, we add rich pigments to achieve our signature depth of colour, carefully adding each in exactly the right amount for a complex and absorbing colour.

  3. Every batch of our water based paint is then rigorously tested for colour consistency and durability before it even reaches the tin.
