Get The Look: Beachy Keen

Written on 21st August 2020

If the summer weather has you longing for sandy toes and salty breezes, but a beach holiday is firmly off the cards for now, don’t worry. A few well-chosen colours and materials and you’ll be recreating a little bit of the coast in your very own home in no time. For a laid-back beachy look, go as literal as you like with white-painted shiplap, rush matting and rope accents, or simply let your palette do the talking.

The Palette

Mimicking the colours of the coast is a great shortcut to creating a beachy feel, however far inland you might be. Starting with a clean white backdrop – try pure All White for a dazzling, crisp look, or Wimborne White for a subtle hint of warmth – layer up tranquil Lulworth Blue with the inkier Stiffkey Blue for a classic New England look. For a modern take, make Jitney – an on-trend brown-based shade inspired by the sands of the Hamptons – your go-to neutral.
