Recommended Primer & Undercoat:White and Light Tones
We’re dedicated to perfecting the art of paint. At our home in Dorset, we combine the finest ingredients, 75 years of experience and technical precision to help you create beautiful spaces that stay beautiful. Even in our colour rich paints, less than 8% of the tin is the colour. The other 92% is what creates the quality, depth and extraordinary response to light that transforms your home.
Paint is like coffee. The colour is the froth on the top, but it’s the quality of the rest of the cup that makes it taste good. – Richard Ball, Farrow & Ball Co-founder
We use twelve exclusive pigments, all specifically selected for their colour intensity. We take colour seriously, so naturally, we only accept the very best. By using these same pigments to make every colour in our palette, all our shades combine effortlessly, making it easy for you to put together a cohesive colour scheme.
Deeper, richer colours
Deeper, richer colours
Packed with pigment for an extraordinary response to every kind of light.
We add generous helpings of rich pigment to create our signature look – deep colours with complex undertones. Our teams design each shade under every kind of light, so it will be perfectly balanced in every setting.
Extraordinary response to light
Extraordinary response to light
We spend months carefully crafting and testing each of our paint colours to make sure they share our signature extraordinary response to light. This beautiful reaction to changing light, like bringing out different undertones or shifting intensity, is what makes our paint so special.

Warm, substantial, no undertonesI used Strong White on the plaster walls of a north-facing prewar apartment. It's a warm, substantial white with no undertones of yellow, blue/green, or violet. Unlike many warm whites, it works well with carrara marble. A pleasure to use, like all F&B paints. It's been a great choice!

The New Dead FlatI was excited to try the new dead flat paint as I always paint my bedrooms one colour. Previously I have needed to buy Emulsion and Eggshell paint, just buying one tin was great. This paint is amazing. After spending what felt like days preparing the room I was amazed with the coverage. The room previously was quite dark so expected to need 3 coats as I was going to a light colour. Just needed 2 coats on everything, ceiling, walls, woodwork and radiator and as always a pleasure to paint with. Absolutely thrilled with the results. Can't wait to start on my next room.

Horse Pleased With ColourI’ve used Farrow and Ball’s many colours throughout my house and been extremely pleased with the result so I thought my Horse , Isabell could have some Farrow and Ball in her stable too. We went for Strong White and I’m pleased with it and so is she. It only took around 45 minutes to paint and just over 30 minutes to dry and as always with Farrow and Ball there’s no awful paint smell.

The perfect light off white! We used this throughout one of our Interior Design projects. Our Client loves the Farrow & Ball colours and wanted something which was a bright off white, without being too grey or beige. It worked perfectly and we were all really pleased with the results.

Great colors and I love the way light reflects itThis is great paint. I’ve painted my entire house in Farrow and Ball. Only issue that I’ve noticed is that areas painted with a brush, like edges, tend to crack. I’m not sure how to overcome this. I’ve accepted it as “that’s just how it is,” but I know it shouldn’t do this. Any ideas?

DisappointingThis is the first time I have used F & B. Disappointed with this colour choice. I am not sure what colour it is as it looks different on every wall and in every room. I thought it would be pale grey,
however,in most areas it looks pale green. It seems to take on the colours around it and does not have a consistent colour of its own. I regret my choice however it is too expensive to change. I have never known a paint to do this. I just could not tell you what colour it is! I did paint a tester on a piece of paper and it looked pale grey. The consistency of the paint and application was good, although I required 3 coats on a white base. Overall disappointed.

Strong white limewash - don’t botherIt doesn’t look any different to white paint once applied. I bought 10L and had this product applied as per the guidelines but no results. Waste of money
