A cool mid blue
Reading as a cool blue, Parma Gray is another colour attributed to the great colourist John Fowler. Used as the backdrop to numerous costume dramas, it creates the perfect period feel when contrasted with Wimborne White. Though its cool nature can feel quite formal when contrasted with a bright white, it is a firm favourite for those who prefer a clean and crisp finish.

This is a lovely fresh blue-grey that really compliments the stone at the front of our house
For the last 6 years our sash windows have been painted in F&B Green Blue which has been much copied in our street. When it came time to re-do the paintwork this has proved a very successful choice. It looks really clean and fresh and really works well with the Bathstone surrounding our windows. We've had lots of nice comments from passers by and neighbours. It's also a great paint finish to use and dried quickly in the warm weather we've had.
The delivery driver who brought the paint to us asked us about it, we gave him a spare copy of the colour chart and the next time he called he said his wife had bought F&B paint for their daughter's bedroom.

A beautiful warm grey-blue, or is that blue-grey?
This is a wonderful colour which in our cottage casts a warm tone and is not at all cold. We used it as the primary wall colour in our new extension, paired with Wimborne White on the walls and woodwork and All White on the ceiling. Whilst the extension was south facing incorporating a roof lantern, our house was built in the 1700s and is very low ceilinged and therefore naturally dark. This means that the colour looks markedly different depending on whether it is in the new lighter space, or the darker, older part of our new room. In the latter it is a beautiful grey blue which creates an elegant intimacy, whilst in the new space it is a lighter blue with only a faint grey tinge. It is perfectly set off by the Wimborne White and as we went for the Modern Emulsion, it is very practical as the paint is washable, but without a noticeable sheen.
