Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don’t bother color matching We have a 1930s bungalow with textured walls and sconces that reflect off said walls like disco balls in the evening. After ordering a sample pot I was talked into color matching, I was also told they could match the finish which is vitally important for our problematic walls. They did “match” the color, but the depth of the f&b pigment was complex and looked great in every light, while the “match” looked flat and suspiciously shiny for a matte. See the image below. We are not wealthy people, the quality of f&b paint is a value. It took barely two coats, I still have a third of my gallon left. It also only dripped paint a couple of times.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beautiful colour, absolutely garbage finish I bought this to paint some bedroom side-tables. I have F&B throughout the house. The off-black is a fantastic colour, like a soft black with none of the brutality of a pitch black. It’s such a pity that after forking out for the estate eggshell (and the corresponding undercoat) at considerable expense, it’s such a poor plasticky finish, which leaves marks every time I put something on it and is still tacky after several weeks. My advice? Get your local decorators merchant to copy the colour in another brand, such as Tikkurila Helmi, which is fantastic to work with and leave the luxurious finish you’d expect the vastly more expensive F&B to have.
