A warm and timeless brown
A warm mid brown, London Stone was created by John Sutcliffe for a classic Nash house in Regent’s Park. With its underlying magenta tones, this unassuming stone colour is the perfect accent for each of our Red Based Neutrals. It feels effortlessly modern when contrasted with Dimity, either on walls or woodwork, and utterly timeless when paired with the stronger Oxford Stone.
We’re dedicated to perfecting the art of paint. At our home in Dorset, we combine the finest ingredients, 75 years of experience and technical precision to help you create beautiful spaces that stay beautiful. Even in our colour rich paints, less than 8% of the tin is the colour. The other 92% is what creates the quality, depth and extraordinary response to light that transforms your home.
Paint is like coffee. The colour is the froth on the top, but it’s the quality of the rest of the cup that makes it taste good. – Richard Ball, Farrow & Ball Co-founder
We use twelve exclusive pigments, all specifically selected for their colour intensity. We take colour seriously, so naturally, we only accept the very best. By using these same pigments to make every colour in our palette, all our shades combine effortlessly, making it easy for you to put together a cohesive colour scheme.

Stonework RestoredLondon stone has proven to be very close to the original colour of the unpainted stonework of my Victorian mid-terrace house and now looks superb.
It would be helpful to also have exterior masonry available in a smaller tin as I ran out with just a couple windowsill to due, and had to order another 5ltr tin, which is not good value.

Stunning and stylishThis paint is so easy to use and the colour is great. I was a bit nervous when I started to apply it as it's for the bedroom and I thought it was going to be too dark, but it looks fabulous. Very stylist and smart.

Calm and easy backdropWorks well as a strong neutral. Used London Stone on the panelling in our open plan space together with Shaded White on the walls. It's a busy room with lots going on from dawn to dusk, and we find London Stone a very unjarring backdrop to the madness that's our daily lives!

Fantastic colour for large spacesOur living room has high combed ceilings from when it used to be a single story cottage. The walls originally had magnolia on them, which washed everything out. I did not use a primer because I thought magnolia wouldn’t need one. Had to use three coats to get a proper coverage but the results are fantastic. Our room feels cozy and inviting while giving definition to the height of the space. The colour came out more grey/purplish in our living room, depending on how the light hits it. I used Joa’s White for the window alcoves and Dimity for the window trim. They’re all lovely! But F&B is so mega expensive, it makes me wonder why people buy it at when you can get the exact same colour mixed up at the B&Q paint counter for half the price.

AwfulTook 3 coats & to be honest could probably do with a fourth, shocking quality. F&B are being left behind by the competition.
