Farrow's Cream

A traditional cream

Our original cream is named after the paint pioneer who first founded the company with Richard Ball in Dorset, England. Farrow’s Cream is a pretty, traditional colour, with no addition of black pigment, which creates delightfully inviting rooms with a gentle warmth. It feels just as at home on the panelling of a 17th century hall as it does on the wooden cupboards of a relaxed family kitchen.

Recommended Primer & Undercoat: Mid Tones

Complementary white: White Tie

Farrow's Cream is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 126.

Back in 2010, we moved to an entirely water based range of finishes, becoming the first in the industry to do so. These low-odor, low-VOC finishes are easy to clean without harmful solvents. They also meet child- and baby-safe requirements in accordance with The Canada Cribs, Cradles and Bassinets Regulations, Canada Toy Regulations (SOR/2011-17) – Section 23 and ASTM F963 – 17 - Standard Consumer Safety Specification for Toy Safety.

Our paint colours are available in a range of durable interior and exterior paint finishes, each rigorously tested to ensure an exceptional depth of colour and long-lasting finish. For the very best results, we always recommend using a Farrow & Ball Primer & Undercoat – see above for the correct tone for this colour.

All Farrow & Ball finishes except Limewash contain isothiazolinones, which may produce an allergic reaction. Farrow & Ball Limewash contains calcium hydroxide which can cause severe damage in contact with skin or eyes. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful soft neutral yellow cream Farrow's cream is a fresh, soft yellow cream, lighter, more neutral and less sunny than Dorset Cream. Not as warm as Single Cream or Double cream, not as muted as Cream. I don't see any pesky pink, orange or green undertones that some yellow creams can have, just lovely soft pale yellow. Paint went on beautifully and covered my posterboard sample in one coat, though I applied two coats to get full depth of color. In the U.S., folks are moving away from the cold modern grays and back toward warmer neutrals such as creams, beiges, tans and taupes. Farrow's Cream is a historic color with much to offer today.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful warm colour I hummed and hawed a lot over the colour for my dining room, and went with Farrow's Cream. It's gorgeous although it does change colour a lot, depending on the daylight conditions. Sometimes a deep yellowy cream, others a cooler cream. Now that I'm used to that, I love it and enjoy the variety.
