Dorset Cream

A rich double cream

Dorset Cream’s name conjures up exactly the right colour in our minds; a rich double cream made in the heart of the West Country. A darker and more yellow version of Farrow's Cream, it should never be used with a bright white but with a sympathetic Yellow Based Neutral like New White, to create a gentle warmth and charmingly traditional scheme.

Recommended Primer & Undercoat: Mid Tones

Complementary white: New White

Dorset Cream is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 73.

Back in 2010, we moved to an entirely water based range of finishes, becoming the first in the industry to do so. These low-odor, low-VOC finishes are easy to clean without harmful solvents. They also meet child- and baby-safe requirements in accordance with The Canada Cribs, Cradles and Bassinets Regulations, Canada Toy Regulations (SOR/2011-17) – Section 23 and ASTM F963 – 17 - Standard Consumer Safety Specification for Toy Safety.

Our paint colours are available in a range of durable interior and exterior paint finishes, each rigorously tested to ensure an exceptional depth of colour and long-lasting finish. For the very best results, we always recommend using a Farrow & Ball Primer & Undercoat – see above for the correct tone for this colour.

All Farrow & Ball finishes except Limewash contain isothiazolinones, which may produce an allergic reaction. Farrow & Ball Limewash contains calcium hydroxide which can cause severe damage in contact with skin or eyes. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Colour! Brightens up my room! I used Dorset cream in my lounge recently having decided to redecorate as the walls were looking tired. Prior to that I'd just completed painting my adjoining open plan stairwell and landing with what I thought was a similar shade called Buttermilk from another leading brand. Having used New White on several natural wood doors, skirting and a built in bookcase, combined with the Dorset Cream the combination in my lounge was stunning. The colours are deep, rich and just very F&B. This created a very clear comparison with the brand I'd used to paint the stairway and landing making the stairs look bland and tepid. I went out despite only having painted the stairs a week earlier and ordered 5L of Dorset Cream and repainted over the other brand so to have Dorset Cream flowing from the living room up to my stairs and landing. F&B was twice the price of the other leading brand but you really do get what you pay for. The colours are so rich and vibrant and really stand out from the mass produced brands at half the price - and, my room has never looked lighter!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely, creamy yellow Dorset Cream is a lovely, rich, creamy yellow that looks beautiful in our primary living room. It really does work well with bright white woodwork. The estate emulsion finish allows the artwork and furniture to take center stage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A non toxic paint. Wow! Wow, what an amazing paint. A paint with no paint smell, but tathet vanilla smell, I didn't think it even existed, such a paint. Just the perfect density, not too thick or too thin, no paint spells, for a diy-er. What more could I ask for? It is much dense in colour for a first paint, on a magnolia paint, but the second one it was lighter. I'm super happy with the results. Thank you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely, nice soft creamy yellow color I got a sample pot of Dorset Cream to try it out with Dix Blue and Red Earth. Dorset Cream is a beautiful soft creamy yellow that is not Day-Glo bright and lacks any green or orange undertones. It looks like nice warm sunshine in your room. The trio of Dorset Cream, Dix Blue and Red Earth is a great combination of sunshine, blue water and earthy reddish-orange.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product! Bought 5L. Far too much. One layer on stair and landing was all the paint required! Shame I have to waste the other 3L! But excellent quality and perfect colour for our needs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Calming Lovely yellow. Whoever wrote the blurb on never pairing with a strong white is completely wrong, go with your own style. I have strong white skirting with walnut floors, a better combination would be difficult to find.
