A relaxed green blue
This vintage blue takes its name from one of the first Farrow & Ball stockists based in East Anglia. Like many of our blues, Dix Blue has a large dose of green included in it, making it both warm and easy to live with. A touch of black pigment brings a slightly aged and relaxed vintage feel, making it perfect for use on upcycled furniture, panelling and woodwork, as well as living room walls.
We’re dedicated to perfecting the art of paint. At our home in Dorset, we combine the finest ingredients, 75 years of experience and technical precision to help you create beautiful spaces that stay beautiful. Even in our colour rich paints, less than 8% of the tin is the colour. The other 92% is what creates the quality, depth and extraordinary response to light that transforms your home.
Paint is like coffee. The colour is the froth on the top, but it’s the quality of the rest of the cup that makes it taste good. – Richard Ball, Farrow & Ball Co-founder
We use twelve exclusive pigments, all specifically selected for their colour intensity. We take colour seriously, so naturally, we only accept the very best. By using these same pigments to make every colour in our palette, all our shades combine effortlessly, making it easy for you to put together a cohesive colour scheme.

Extraordinary response to light
We spend months carefully crafting and testing each of our paint colours to make sure they share our signature extraordinary response to light. This beautiful reaction to changing light, like bringing out different undertones or shifting intensity, is what makes our paint so special.

Love the new dead flat finish!I was a bit sceptical of the claims to be honest but this finish is fantastic! As we have dogs it is turning out to be incredibly durable. We’ve now used it in a few rooms. Well worth the investment!

Beautiful blue/greenUsed this with dead flat finish in a north east facing room. I love the way the light affects the colour moving from a greenish egg shell in the morning to beautiful blue tones in the evening. Went on like a dream and dried quickly.

Absolutely stunning! We absolutely love this colour, it's stunning. We're also fans of the chalky finish and I find the paint very easy to work with. Farrow and Ball is our first choice for paint because although it's expensive, the quality is outstanding.

South facing hallwayI love this colour, it’s so vibrant and works amazing on woodwork in just one coat. I paired this with All white, which at first I thought was slightly too cold with the Dix blue but I’ve fell in love with the combination of colours.

Love the colour but....We bought this in the modern emulsion option for a 4 foot by 5 foot wall in the bathroom to break up the white that the landlord had painted everywhere. I have put 8 coats on this wall so far and tried brushing it, rolling it and using a paint pad! None of these methods have resulted in an even finish. I will attempt one more coat once the last coat has fully dried (at least 4 hours) and then I think it will have to go back to white. So far this has turned out to be a total waste of time, paint (nearly half a 2.5l tin) and therefore money. Just to add, it has been thoroughly shaken and stirred prior to each coat. Extremely disappointing since all other f&b paints we've used have been great.
Back in 2010, we moved to an entirely water based range of finishes, becoming the first in the industry to do so. These low-odor, low-VOC finishes are easy to clean without harmful solvents. They also meet child- and baby-safe requirements in accordance with The Canada Cribs, Cradles and Bassinets Regulations, Canada Toy Regulations (SOR/2011-17) – Section 23 and ASTM F963 – 17 - Standard Consumer Safety Specification for Toy Safety.
