An aged salmon pink
A subtle shade whose name refers to the matt finish of an aged pink painted at Kedleston Hall in 1805, Dead Salmon has a magical quality to it as everyone sees it differently. Be it a strong mushroom steeped in history, or a warming buff neutral, this deep salmon pink creates the most subtle and serene of environments suitable as a backdrop in candlelit dining rooms.
We’re dedicated to perfecting the art of paint. At our home in Dorset, we combine the finest ingredients, 75 years of experience and technical precision to help you create beautiful spaces that stay beautiful. Even in our colour rich paints, less than 8% of the tin is the colour. The other 92% is what creates the quality, depth and extraordinary response to light that transforms your home.
Paint is like coffee. The colour is the froth on the top, but it’s the quality of the rest of the cup that makes it taste good. – Richard Ball, Farrow & Ball Co-founder
We use twelve exclusive pigments, all specifically selected for their colour intensity. We take colour seriously, so naturally, we only accept the very best. By using these same pigments to make every colour in our palette, all our shades combine effortlessly, making it easy for you to put together a cohesive colour scheme.
Deeper, richer colours
Deeper, richer colours
Packed with pigment for an extraordinary response to every kind of light.
We add generous helpings of rich pigment to create our signature look – deep colours with complex undertones. The same space that feels bright and airy in morning sun, can feel cosy and intimate by evening. Our teams design each shade under every kind of light, so it will be perfectly balanced in every setting.
Extraordinary response to light
Extraordinary response to light
We spend months carefully crafting and testing each of our paint colours to make sure they share our signature extraordinary response to light. This beautiful reaction to changing light, like bringing out different undertones or shifting intensity, is what makes our paint so special.

Cozy & WarmI used Dead Salmon in our south-facing bathroom and I could not be happier it makes the bathroom so warm without being overbearing pink. I also love how the color slightly changes throughout the day.

Great for my old floorsI am redoing floors in my early 1800s inn. Don't let the name of this paint discourage you, it came out lovely. I tried it on the floor of one room to start, and I am now moving on to the third room!

Dead calming colour for a North facing officeWe chose dead salmon to decorate our home office which is north facing. The colour is a great contrast to the green elements in the room so we decided to paint all surfaces using the dead flat finish. The ceiling, walls, skirting and architraves were all done and it looks fantastic. Only slight issue is it needed 3 coats.

Not pinky people but Dead Salmon is just fabulous!LOVE this colour! We are renovating and have used Dead Salmon on the ceiling and walls in the utility (black units) and the office and now the bedroom ceiling (walls are Brinjal). The colour changes with light from a lovely mushroom to a deep, warm, cosy, salmon pink.
Easy to paint with and gorgeous depth of colour when used with the correct undercoat.
We are not pinky people, we have a lot of Railings, Pitch Black, Brinjal etc but Dead Salmon is just fabulous!

Not happy. The color was not the same as the photos, it was so different, dead salmon turned out to be muddy brown. I wrote to the customer care link and did not get a response.

Still tacky!Firstly- this is a gorgeous colour. I absolutely love it. That being said, I painted an MDF radiator cover making sure to leave 4 hours between coats, priming well and sanding between layers. The paint still remains tacky and I am unable to put anything on it without getting stuck to it. Very, very disappointed.
